I’m 50. I remember as a girl having an Encyclopedia Britannica set I treasured deeply. At the end of the articles there would be a “See Also” list. Before I knew it I’d be surrounded by the books, opened to so many threaded topics. It was a joy. Then Google came along…with its funky name and its mysterious inner workings. And, I very quickly realized that it was the ultimate “See Also”. It’s helped me never lose that girl with the sea of books spread out around her as she chased her curiosity and I’m - very thankful.

47 here. I did the same with encyclopedias. Oftentimes, I had an idea the information I was looking for, but no good way to define it, and therefore no good way to search it. I learned if I started with a related topic, and chased down the, "see also," I would not only find the previously just out of reach information, but learn a lot of surrounding context in the process. My Dad used to tell me the largest factor in finding the right answer was asking the right question. I've started countless Google searches with the best question I can, or closest related topic I can think of, and as I gained more information, honed down my search, just like those days as a kid surrounded by a pile of encyclopedias. It has been an indispensable tool. I'm glad someone else shares the same sense of awe at the essentially infinite encyclopedia at our fingertips. My nine year old self would be so jealous.
