Thank you! You have solved my problem! I was having connections issues with my Chromecast. The spinning wheel would never end, when connecting to the TV. Troubleshooting steps. I had checked the cable connections. Restarted the Chromecast. Restarted TV and phone Restarted my modem. Closed and re-open the Google Home app. Hard reset chromecast. My chromecast was still not working until I uninstalled and re-installed the Google home app. I went through the set up process and it connected straight away. I hope this comment will help someone else.

THANK YOU! The simple - but genial - idea of showing where the button is made all the difference for me. I did not know of this button and when I looked at the dongle, I could not find it at first. Once I found it and followed your directions, it all worked out. I was able to bring back to life TWO Chromecast dongles that had just died on me. Spent hours trying to get them to work to no avail. Unplugging the dongle had no effect. In my case, the tablet gave the correct name for the network to connect to BUT the dongle added an extra "1" to the name of my network and therefore was not able to find it. Obviously. Thanks again. 🙂

Thanks didn't see that little reset button. But Chromecast (Home) is so flaky. It was working perfect but left it on the Hdmi port but had the Fire TV on all night but turned it off while still casting. Then it malfunctioned. I thought it was dead. I did have to reset it + go through ur steps about 6 times b4 it's finally working. I think there is a lot of interference from all the nearby WiFi. Thanks.

No matter what I do I listen to a bunch of you guys it always comes back to it once a Wi-Fi you can't do it on my hotspot you need a Wi-Fi whatever you guys say don't listen to them you need Wi-Fi your hotspot doesn't work for this for your car for your Chromecast trust me I've been doing this for the past 45 minutes
