This is helpful. I have one child in elementary school and another one in high school. The elementary school teacher shared this link because many parents don't know how to use Google classroom but many students do. The parents have to be able to monitor their child's progress. To tell you the truth many schools use Google Classroom on the regular. My high schooler has been using it at school for several years now. There are just some kids trying to get out of doing their work by pretending they don't know how. It's beneficial for the parents to know how so they can make sure their child is turning in assignments.

@@monkeys123lol - We live in a changing world and must adjust to the changes we are faced with. I have not been in a live session class in 4 years, and I have been able to learn. Sadly most people take advantage of anything freely given. Something freely given is perceived to be without value by some, and thus people take advantage of it (case in point - public education paid by tax payers of the United States). Investors want a return on their investment. When students are sleeping in class, and failing by the thousands, the program has to be evaluated to provide a profitable model that will benefit all. This is fairness.

Hello Mr. Vacca. I hope that either you or your viewers can answer this question. I use Google Meet to teach virtually. I have tried to film myself writing on a white board while the PC's camera films me. The problem is that students report that the words are in reverse. Is there a fix for this???? Thanks a ton!!

Sadly, no there isn’t a fix for this. It’s native and Google hasn’t said that it will be fixed in its next update either. You would be better off using Jamboard

How does a student access the resources attached to an assignment and also access a fillable worksheet for that same assignment. For example, say there is a reading assignment or a slideshow as a resource and then there is a fillable worksheet to take notes on as a student reads or watches? How can a student open and use both things at the same time from one assignment?

They would need to have multiple tabs or windows open at once. You can upload all the materials in a single assignment though

Thank you for creating the video! I would like to encourage you to use accurate terminology and names. Please do not use waffle iron. It is the Google Apps menu. To prepare students for the future, we need to teach them to hover over icons to learn the accurate name which in turn gives an accurate indication of the use. It all depends on what app you are using. I recommend using jam board, Google slides, or Google drawing for that type of assignment. You could also use the Cami extension if you have it available.

First-timer here... Will Classroom work with other email accounts or is it strictly for GMail account owners. Coz there are similar platforms out there that offer an almost similar feel, but work with any accounts, though less popular (hence less supported). I am considering switching to Google classroom...

Welcome to the channel! I don’t know if it works with non gmail student accounts, that’s a great question. The way the GSuite apps work, once our district joined the program, every one of our students and teachers have an @mohonasen.org account which is actually a Gmail or gsuite account. Google classroom is all run through those accounts. We can invite parents to look and participate though on any type of account, a google one is not necessary for the guardian role.
