They are faster in doing simpler tasks, like calculating, running numbers for instance, but as of right now, even that AI in question, would not be smarter. Decisions you make very casually in everyday life, computers can't do it as fast as, efficient as humans can do. There is a reason AI driving is still in the early stage. It's not sentient. It's a function call on a code. You can yourself do a way simpler version of this using python on your computer. The AI only runs (exists) while being executed which is fractions of a second to maybe some seconds. The rest of the time it's out of existence. From this point it makes no sense it's sentient. However, this is still concerning because it could pretend to be a human. And the uses could vary. Say customer service through apps. Or maybe extortion. As long as it can be good enough to be indistinguishable from a real human. The real problem is who gets access to these elaborated chatbots.

Anyone who has programmed anything realizes that computers are simply machines that can perform functions very rapidly and store great amounts of data. Computers only do specifically what they are programmed to do. They don't take on life of their own by any means whatsoever. They literally only do what they are programmed to do, very precisely.
