Jay, that's my old stomping grounds up there. I spent a lot of time out there back in my 20's off roading with my buddies. If you follow that power line across the paved road and go for about 2 miles to where it drops off, there is an amazing view towards South Canaan, you can see to Honesdale and beyond from there. I haven't been up there in close to 25 years, but it used to be worth the trip.

Your comment made me reminisce of my 20's too. Like where my friends and I would go camping on his aunt's land. Haven't been there for over 20 years, and unfortunately a wildfire went through the place in 2019. It makes me sad to know that the place will never be the the same.

It's amazing what google maps picks up and it's always fun when you search them out. That was a really neat camping area, like you said, well maintained and definitely a piece of paradise. Good thing you didn't step on that snake, I know the feeling though, just seeing one gives me the creeps. Beautiful day for a nice ride! Reason I love google map quests isn't the object itself, but rather the adventure of the quest, the sights, the scenery & nature along the way. Loved the babbling brook after the snake scare! Your still shots of the picture perfect pond mirroring the blue sky & fluffy clouds was gorgeous; and so was the private paradise spot, a lush, green and inviting spot to unwind with a small cookout. The dragonfly that landed on the leaf in the pond made me smile. Great job with the cool new camera, too! Thanks for bringing us along!!😊💙👍
