Did you check the voltage before doing this, I was told to always check voltage. What kind of control panel do you have on the other side, have you had any issues with battery running low etc?

The metal plate is only needed for electrical boxes. You didn’t need it.

That’s the nest 3rd generation ?

does it actually work though? We put it into our flips but always have to change some settings on the HVAC
@seanlovesrealestate3 жыл бұрын
Yup! Been working for a few weeks now. Might need to tweak some things or add a wire if I install Central AC

Is your 2 wire set up 120v or low voltage

Never 120 at TSTAT only for floor heat

So cool, for a few dollars update. Just updated my AC I have nest through Costco my bill was little under $16,000 For a 1,160sq home. Every one said it’s too much money what I pay. What you think?
@seanlovesrealestate3 жыл бұрын
A full HVAC update could run you $15000, but I only paid $4500 to have a new AC unit installed in one of my flip projects (1500 sqft).

So you had no power issues, like needing a C wire?
@seanlovesrealestate2 жыл бұрын
Nope, I was ok with just the red wires. The C wire is if you have AC
@Edg902 жыл бұрын
So the nest is only for the heater?
@seanlovesrealestate2 жыл бұрын
No, if you have an AC, you'll have a third cable
@MrSurfcaster762 жыл бұрын
With only two wires coming from the wall it’s still compatible with the Google next?
@seanlovesrealestate2 жыл бұрын
Yes! I only have a heater in my house and these are the only two wires I have. Works great!

@@seanlovesrealestate Did you have the heat link connected to the nest?
@bones007able4 ай бұрын
Got mine for free from my power company... they claimed it would work with my 2 wire setup.... it didn't ... says I need a C wire , I simply removed the nest and re-installed my honeywell thermostat, I carefully packed up the nest back in its box ... and dropped it in the garbage can, Ill be damned if I am running more wires through plaster walls or plugging a wall wart in and running the wire across the floor just to power some google garbage....

Since there are only wires, how will the Nest charge itself?
@seanlovesrealestate Жыл бұрын
One of the 4 wires gives power to the thermostat
@douglastran4978 Жыл бұрын
@@seanlovesrealestate but I only have 2 wires. For some reason, initially the battery would run out every 2 days or so and I would have to disconnect the unit to charge it from the outlet. However, the last charge is still working (it's been more than one week). Do you know why the battery has not run out this time? It's still on 2 wires.
@gv54862 жыл бұрын
Does it require batteries?
@seanlovesrealestate2 жыл бұрын
Nope, it's powered by the red cable that connects to your furnace

The back plate is ugly and takes away from the look of it. Do a little drywall work and make it look better it’s easy.
