Google Pixel 2 XL Battery Replacement (How to change the battery for ~$16)

Today I am going to show you how to replace the battery on the Google Pixel 2 XL, as well as how to change the screen. It is highly recommended to change the battery only when changing the screen as well. If your screen is not cracked and you still want to change the battery, TAKE YOUR TIME, DON'T RUSH!

Matt, I'm wanting to replace the worn battery on my 2XL. My screen is cracked on the extreme bottom left, AND the screen/phone works A-OK, as the crack isn't on any of the necessary usable screen area. QUESTION: When I heat the screen using your techniques, and I use extreme caution and remove the screen by suction and pulling, will the crack grow???

Thanks! I would assume not. Also think that companies only offer 1 year (for the Pixel 2 XL it was 2 years) of warranty, meaning that the water resistance is only "guaranteed" for 1 year anyways. But you will need to add some waterproofing glue to prevent liquid from getting in, but I would always assume the device is never water resistant again after opening up. You can test it after, but the risk is not worth it to me lol

I don't know if you had any luck finding an OtterBox case, I liked theirs for water resistance. I didn't find one for my phone yet, sometimes they are pretty bulky

OtterBox cases do not offer water resistance for any of the Pixel cases. You may be thinking of LifeProof which offers water resistance in a poor design

Changed Battery, Screen and Usb Type C connector.. I tested all functionalities before gluing the screen but unfortunately the camera is not working. When I try to open any app that use the camera it crash. Google camera in particular tell me that a problem has occurred and then crash. Using an app to check the hardware it seems that the rear camera is no longer present. But I did not do anything on the camera and I checked that the connector is connected properly. Any idea on what can I do? Please help . One of the reason I decide to repair my phone was for the camera, and now it's the only thing that is not working anymore :/

Is possible is got disconnected, but it's also common to fail because of a chip on the board that powers the camera.

please don´t glue it. Use the pre cut adhesive available for cheap online !
