I tried to remove the glass, it looks like it should be replaceable but the adhesive is really strong so I did not want to risk cracking or breaking it so I left it alone. Sorry but has nothing to do with right to repair. Watch this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i6XPmWianrigjbc&ab_channel=LouisRossmann It is when phone manufacturers use a certain chip that the manufacturers of these chips (eg. TI, Samsung etc) are not allow to sell or like Apple that even genuine Apple parts (e.g. from brand new phones) can't be swapped between the same two devices because they don't have the same serial number. Soldering a USB C port to the main port is not like that. It worsens the reparability, but it does not make the operation impossible like in the mentioned cases.

@@平和-v1z There is an engineering and durability reasoning for such choices. Not everything can be made modular while meeting goals set by the team for longevity. I don't know if this has happened before, but here it goes. My Pixel 6 suffered from a swollen battery and it pushed the screen away from the frame. I went to a Google authorised service center to get the battery replaced. A day later they said that they could not remove it. The reason being that they were unable to remove the screws. They even asked me if I had gotten it checked somewhere else. Of course I hadn't. They suggested that the screws seemed to be worn and gotten stuck. Im not sure if this was a manufacturing defect, but this spelled the end of my P6 journey. The screen now hangs by the flexible connector. Pity that the phone had been dropped just once and was in perfect shape with no cracks or dents. And barely 1.5 years old.

It's normal for it to heat up due to the fact the point of the heat transfer materials on the inside are to exchange heat from the components out to the outside of the phone. In some ways yea but also the more compact and closer everything is, the more heat is boggled up and also makes for repair jobs even more difficult. Also the battery needs some room to expand during charging and so forth. I'm not an expert in electrical engineering or how they engineer the boards, so I can't speak on the behalf of how they arrange the layout and why they couldn't make the board smaller by arranging the components and chips closer to each other. :)

I wish you would have taken two identical phones and tried exchanging the parts to see what Google disables. I saw the leaked document indicating some parts are serialized in the firmware on the main board to prevent people from repairing their own phone, similar to what Apple has done on the 13. Only Google or an ASP will have access to software to restore functionality. Obviously, if Google is doing that, there is no possible end-user repair without losing functionality. Score should be zero.

(Google Translate) Hello, may I reprint some of your videos of dismantling the phone to the Chinese Bilibili video website? I will try my best to translate the video into Chinese and add notes, thank you!

Hi. As long as you dont remove the logo on the video, it should be ok. 😀

@@PBKreviews It's actually pretty self explanatory because of the packaging. So it wasn't really needed. I'll give you that. Good video overall.

such a weird location for the vibrator motor...

I have heard some folks say that the pixel screen feels hollow when you interact with it. I have not touched a pixel 6 yet, but can someone confirm or debunk this?
@PBKreviews3 жыл бұрын
It's probably because of the fact the screen sits on top of a plastic frame that borders the sides of the screen and the center is somewhat hollow but very slightly. However the glass is gorilla glass victus and is strong so there are no worries of it breaking. Also most other phones have a metal plate or backing where the back of the screen is adhered to that plate so this one doesn't do that which is another reason you may hear that hollowness when tapped on etc.

Kind of confused why we couldn't just repost the original teardown video that Google took down prior to the October announcement instead.

Almost every new phone is harder to repair, the fingerprint scanner is a complication when It comes to screen replacement, also the charging port soldered to the motherboard will be hard to repair. I hate those phones which are hard to repair.
@PBKreviews3 жыл бұрын
yep, I have a feeling that the screen replacements will probably come with the fingerprint sensor pre attached.

Why tf doesn't this channel have an iphone teardown?
@rchltmedia3 жыл бұрын
the iphone is too many parts that need to remove. he is maybe not too experienced to disassemble iphones. update : the iphone is expensive
@PBKreviews3 жыл бұрын
I have a few, but the main reason is that a lot of people are able to get the iPhones early or right before release and they upload teardown videos on them quick so there tend to be numerous teardown videos on them and isn't worth me spending the thousands of dollars on them when I won't get many views on the videos to recoup the costs etc. Hope this explains it. But when I am able to get my hands on one early, I will definitely do a video on it. :)

According to your opinion, what is the overall quality of this phone? How many points you will give to this one out of 10?
@PBKreviews3 жыл бұрын
Repairability I gave a 6/10, quality of the phone is good and is an aluminum uni body so that's a plus as well.

The Pixel 6 is the biggest POS phone I've ever owned. Dropped from waist height on linoleum with a case and screen protector. Not even a scratch to the phone but it just shut off, completely dead. No response to any input, no lights, sounds, vibrations, or anything. uBreakiFix deemed in unrepairable. Glad I just got the stupid thing a couple months ago. Never buying a Google phone again, absolute garbage.
