It's a great feature but I think in real life it won't be that useful. I think most people calling or receiving the call will hang up immediately when hearing that phrase.

I think it will prove useful for deaf/mute people, but other than that I wouldn't see it as popular. Although, I do like the features it offers with this when I'm on the phone with an automated call taker for a business. It shows what numbers give what options to press. It's neat for that.

Aside from one being stable and the other as a beta, are all the features of Android 12L and the Android 12 QRP3 Beta 1.1 the same? I have an unrooted Pixel 6 Pro running the latter, but I don't want to set everything up again if I unenroll from the beta program and download the 12L stable version.

Very interesting, with good explanation. I was able to view the settings in the live caption option, but it does not appear in the drop down menu (where the options like "flashlight" can be seen). Do I need to do anything else besides activating it in settings, in order to see it in the drop down?

@@IDTR Hi. At 01:49, it shows on your drop down, "extra dim, focus mode, storage, and live caption." On mime, I only show "extra dim, bedtime mode, and night light." I do not show live caption on this screen, and neither on the first or second screen. I did follow your excellent example, and turned on "Type responses during calls," as well as "use live caption" under the sound and vibration option. Very strange, as it should appear like yours. I purchased the Pixel 6 Pro from Amazon last month, when the price dropped $100, and I did update all my apps as suggested. Do you think I should reach out to Google help, are they pretty good in helping in this kind of situation?

Not to nick pick but kind of bummed it doesn’t use the Duplex assistant with natural speech nuances like “um”. Speaking of, what ever happened to Duplex assistant? You would think Google would apply it’s natural speech to all services. I used Siri for the first time recently and was blown away by how natural it sounds. Google needs to catch up and it’s frustrating because they proved they can back in 2018 🤦

Its weird. The regular assistant sounds very natural and has many different tones you can pick. Call screening is somewhat natural but this captions bot is super robotic. Google assistant > Siri for naturalness

This is the problem with Google. They push great new features but its not very intuitive and look at that horrible UI. This is the reason why people get blown away when Apple releases something that has already been around in Android for years. UI/UX matters a lot.
