Android has the customization colors pre determined mainly because of contrast. The whole point of Material You is to give the users freedom to choose themes and colors, but keeping the entire system UI coherent and accessible, so that every text/icon is readable. That's why Android doesn't have a color and saturation slider. Apple decided to add this feature by giving the user the slider, which is a very lazy way of implementing customization.

But still not copying the back gesture implementation. It's underratedly the best android feature And all the places where iOS was better than stock android, oneUI had that years prior and also did it better than both. I truly wished iOS 18 was compared to oneUI 😂

This is why app developers focuses on ios because they don't want android to mess their apps with such customizations. I am no fan of both I only use what is available on my budget but I have both iphone and android. Its just annoying to me that android has much better features, but the design is way too clumsy, no attention to detail, way to playfull design and animations and its wierd colours and unserious icons. I have a samsung and one ui is a bit different but i could never switch to an pixel phone because its just a bit too much, rather i would take an iphone where it is at least all taken care and smooth animations with nice colours and attention to the detail

Android looks like a rookie developer was given the keys to do what they want. iOS looks like a professional developer took the OS serious and took his Time to make something look and act beautifully. Get an ugly ui that has more features that not everyone is going to use or get a beautifully designed OS with less features that actually all work as it should and will be used across your massive ecosystem? Hmmmmm i wonder which one i will choose.
