Google desperately needs to adjust their standard video settings. The image looks extremely choppy. If they would drop the ISO a bit and lower the shutter speed on each individual frame, it would have even less noise and an even smoother image. Two birds one stone. But hey what do I know. It almost feels like Google calibrated the video for the possibility that people might take a still image out of the video, which I think is a very odd thing to optimize the video for.

Yeah, or simply give the option. I hate, for example, having to fight the phone on activating the telephoto lens instead of just having the option of a button that 100% switches it. The video feels pretty decent but the moment it gets slightly darker or you use anything else besides the main lens it cranks up the ISO. I know it's capable of getting better quality if it gives you freedom of adjustment

These day almost all the flagship model has a decent quality camera to produce the good cinematic video.60-70% on the camera.The rest is the user skills.My uncle is a professional photographer still using his pixel 3xl as his second phone.Sometimes his photo look far more superior compare to DSLR until you zoom or crop it.

@@afriendofjamis ND = Neutral-density. ND Filter goes over the lens to change how the resulting footage looks by reducing the light being let in. That's my limited understanding.

@@sarahm9482 NDs do reduce light, but don't necessarily make a better image. It is typically used in video if you want a shallow depth of field in a very bright environment. This is because if it's too bright, your camera will compensate by closing down the aperture (more in focus, less "cinematic", and after a certain point it makes the image less sharp because of diffraction) or increasing the shutter speed (the rule of thumb is 2x the fps, so 24fps video is 1/48 shutter- this results in pleasing motion blur). In an environment that isn't too bright for your sensor (ISO sensitivity), you don't need to compensate to darken it so it wouldn't help. An ND in a dark room would just make the video more noisey (increased ISO causes this). So it depends - sunset, overcast, indoor, it wouldn't really help. However, bright sunny day? Would allow nice motion blur or out of focus background. TLDR: ND helps if it's too bright, otherwise it doesn't.

Nice shots. Good Quality. But what happend to the framerate? All the non Slowmo shots are jaggy and stuttery... Is this shot on 24fps rather than 30fps? That would explain it. Or was there some kind of framerate mismatch during editing? Anyway... good quality of the pictures, but the stuttery framerate makes me wanna stop watching it.
