I have had mine since launch and it has been good overall. Great battery, reliable camera, good performance. The only things that bother me are the weaker cell signal and how it will randomly get warm for no apparent reason. I'll be interested to see what the pixel 7a offers next year.

@@EM-cj7tu I haven't on my 6a. Altough cell reception could be a lot better, it didn't overheat to a point to shut off functions. And I also use it quite heavily, it gets warm, but not hot and if you use a case you'll barely notice. They fixed a lot of issues this phone had with android 13 and other bug fixes.

@@chillerkiller112 not going to back to any other phone. Pixel always. Amazing Camera Features Stock Android experience. No lag as all complaining. 60hz is smooth as butter and cheese. I used Xiaomi 11T 120hz and didn't feel any difference. Battery life is excellent.

I like mine. The fingerprint sensor has been an adventure. It started "ok",got worse, then got much better, and now is not so great again. I miss the capacitive sensor of old which was always great. Other than that and some occasional connectivity weirdness, it's been great, as has android 13 (12 almost pushed me to an iphone).

Oh really?? Since the December update, the fingerprint reader has been the most consistent and reliable as ever. It has gotten to the point that I don't worry about my finger positioning anymore because as you probably know, one would have to adjust their fingerprint position in a certain way to make it work before.

@@deebzeal8204 I use my Pixel 3a as my primary device and it's still holding up really well for me. I use my phone everyday, particularly, I'm on the phone with my partner like 24 hours a day. I text a bit, I watch videos (all at the same time), video chat, I take pictures that look good to me, I use Google Maps heavily while in a call. Even the battery still lasts half a day while on a call and using the phone occasionally. I could keep using it honestly, but I've just bought a Pixel 7 because I got greedy, and was worried about no longer having security updates. I'm keeping the 3a though. I really wish more people would hold onto their phones for longer. If it doesn't bother them that they're spending a ton of money for a 1 or 2 year device (even if it can last longer), fine, but think of the waste and damage to the environment. We also shouldn't be encouraging planned obsolescence by companies.

Should've talked about the security updates. 6a is covered for 5 years or up to 2027 which is well above the average of other phones. Most phones are only covered for 2-3 years.

I have the phone and i do use Tapet. The phone has been a breeze for me. I always installed a custom ROM on my phones to install barebones and stock android. This time I got the phone with "stock" android the way google meant to be and it has been a great experience overall.

The fingerprint scanner on the screen just does not work. I have given up on it and now use the code instead. I have also had to stop using the biometric to access other apps like the bank, NHS, my Vodafone etc. This 6a has taken me backward. The 4a with its dedicated fingerprint just worked!

Wish mine did. It's gone from bad to good and back again and doesn't come close to the reliability of the old sensors. I've got my right thumb enrolled twice now in the hopes that helps. Grateful for smart lock keeping it unlocked most of the time!

@@RichHutchinson I had the same finger registered 4 times (maximum allowed) with all possible positions imaginable and still it is slow... It is 💩 especially compared to my previous low end phone with a 4 years old fingerprint scanner that was super fast and super accurate. It is a hardware problem and software updates are more a placebo than a real solution. This technology never had real reason to exist other than impress. Since the more expensive models had already the same problem, it never made sense to put it in the A series too. 🤦♂

sounds like tensor chips are actually a drawback outside of photography. it's kind of funny even all these years later that a QUALCOMM modem is the way to go. I have one of these on the way and may actually have to return it in favor of a phone that is using a midrange snapdragon.

I got a Galaxy S20 FE 5G 15 months ago at Newegg for ~$250. AT&T ended support for the phone a year ago, but it seems to be available again, but I just won't go back to AT&T because of what they did. Trying out Spectrum Mobile for 12 months free and got the Google Pixel 6a for $249.99 (price dropped from $499.99). My Galaxy S20 FE 5G will still be my go-to phone, but I'm excited to try out the Pixel 6a and see how it is (I've heard good things).

I have the Pixel 7 Pro as my main phone and I purchased the 6a as my second phone. I bought mine on sale from Google for $349 plus they gave me $279 towards trade credit for my Pixel 6 which had a cracked screen. I really like this phone, I use it when I'm out running and hiking on the trails. It's nice and compact and it works well. I wonder what the 7a will bring next year?

6 months with the 6a here, I hate how the Google assistant doesn't give an audio prompt. (Yes I've contacted support many times), and my speakerphone cuts out intermittently. Poor audio quality, and my service drops throughout the day even though I live next to a 5g tower. I wouldn't buy the 6a...

I had mine for a couple of weeks and my only real gripe with it is the fingerprint scanner. It can be really annoying at times when it takes a couple of tries. I have no problem with the 60hz panel since I don't really use it to play... The difference is not meaningful for scrolling through menus. Battery and performance are just like the more expensive models and the photos are great thanks to Google's ai processing. So overall I'm really happy about how it's working, and the exclusive pixel features have been more useful than o thought they would!

Go to settings and restrict as much access as you can on all your apps, locations,cameras and mics. That's a good start to saving battery life. Lots of vids on you tube about it. Gives you more control too on who's doing what on your phone without your permission. U should put most of those settings on ask everytime. Hope this helps

💡 looking to upgrade from my OnePlus 8 pro and I'm thinking the Pixel 6 or 7 could be it, especially for the price.

Almost bought this phone but opted for the Nothing Phone instead. Pixel 6a is a great phone tho. It's the lack of high refresh rate, average battery, lack of wireless charging that made me switch to the Nothing Phone. Also the 6a seemed to run warm for no apparent reason but gosh darn it that camera is backed by excellent software.

Average battery? I am pretty sure it would be the same as nothing phone 1 in terms of battery. Nothing phone would be a better phone but battery is really good in Pixel 6a

@@mouhamadyoussouf9320 Tbh both phones have the odd battery drain issue. With the Pixel it's during active usage because of the very power hungry Tensor core. With the Nothing Phone on OS 1.1.7, it was a sleep mode, overnight battery drain issue that has since been resolved with the beta A13 update

@@anandjani7642 Less than a day. Depends on usage. The phone heats up even while browsing.

Hi mate! Awesome video as always, thank you. I’ve been using the iPhone for over 10 years now, currently I’m using the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Lately I’ve felt no need of a phone that expensive, especially when I only use it for social media, calls, emails and some light gaming like clash of clans and Pokémon go. Is the pixel 6a the way to go for me or should I look at something else? I really don’t need a expensive phone, just fast and good camera. All the best.

Fingerprint issue is overblown by other people only gripe is that charging takes long. from
