This phone is connected to our Telus 5G network and or Wi-Fi 5 Network. Screen brightness will be set at the middle around 50 52%, we are turning off adaptive brightness and setting the screen timeout to 1 minute. We will also put this phone to light mode so all individual pixels will light up. Font and display size is on the smaller side. Will turn on smooth display the highest refresh rate and since we're using a tempered glass, we will also use the screen protector mode on! Really great video. Unfortunately my Pixel 8 experience is very different to yours. I get about 4 hours SoT. I have it set to 60Hz, dark mode, no gaming and no camera use. Just browsing, email etc. I paid full price for my P8, and am really disappointed in it.

Great battery test. I was wondering how well it would do on mobile data since i don't have WiFi. I'm definitely considering upgrading to this phone later once my 5a stops getting security updates. Looks like it's a great phone for the price.

Maps uses more than 4% for 30mins. Ive found its very heavy onnthe battery. The battery seems to discharge slower from 100% at first. There is 100% charge and then there is "fully charged". Your phone actually can gain more capacity past when it first shows 100% charged.

I think it's a good choice. As I bought a pixel 6a 2 months ago and I do not regret my decision. However, pixel 6a will get Android 15 and that's the final software update for the phone. The cameras of the 6a still perform very well compared to most of the mid-range phones. The battery lasts at least 7 hours of screen on time on my daily usage with Android 14. If you can afford to buy a Pixel 7 or 8, go with either of the these phones. I hope this helps, bro.

I'd be careful with the 6a. I had it for 8 months, and there still are annoying issues with it. The fingerprint reader is slow and inaccurate, phone overheats quickly when video calling or using the camera on a warmer day, and worst of all it's been crashing and rebooting when I open the camera every few days. I love the pixel but these issues make it unreliable for me.

The SOT on my Pixel 8 foesnt seem that accurate. If I stream music, podcasts or YT for example with the screen locked it doesnt register as SOT. I know its technically screen off, but its still using the phone and likely using quite a lot of data streaming over 4/5G or wifi.

@@nowaytogoback nope. Browsing internet, snapchat, taking photos, sending emails, tiktok, and some games. I never use dark mode cause I hate it and brightness is on auto but I set it high most of the time. on 4g I get 9h sot and on 5g I get 7.5 hours.

It's definitely not a small phone IMO. The screen size is perfect. But the phone itself is still very chunky.
