I spent an hour trying to disable ultra-hdr it is super annoying to me, a workaround is to edit the photo which removes the ultra hdr when you save it or view the photo with different app, not google photos. The 50mb option is not giving me any advantages, i only tested with the main lens, will give the other lenses a try. Awesome video as always.

Yeah, I went to museum and did a ton of photosphere shots inside. Also, was remodelling the kitchen and was able to give a really good idea to the designer of my room before they arrived. Really good photo app. They need to bring it back, asap.

Talking about my Pixel 7 Pro, when I see the "details" of the photo on google photos I dont see the "Ultra HDR" laber, but if I share that same photo and paste the link on google chrome, then there I can see the photo on ultra hdr and I can see the label of "ultra HDR" on details but only in chrome

I've noticed that using Picture in Picture for apps like KZbinTV, Netflix, Amazon and Peacock drop the overall screen refresh rate. There is a jitter when scrolling in other apps while having a video in the corner of the screen. Maybe some testing of common social media apps will be a good test. So far I can tell most apps aren't optimized for the Pixel 8. Even Google's own apps weirdly.

About the display settings at the end of the video, I could change it in the Pixel 7 Pro in developer options to set smallest width to 484 do from 448 dp to achieve more text on the screen like the 8 pro...love this mode

That photo editor AI is really cool! My main problem with magic eraser was the artifacts left behind and this is now almost perfectly blended into the photo. Im hoping some of these features filter down to the tensor g2 models since they literally released the pixel fold only a few months ago.

why not a single youtuber is talking about the peak brightness on pixel 8? I've had this phone for a week now and while in direct sunlight, it goes from 2400 nits to below 2000 nits in no more than a minute (gets pretty hot, too, and it isn't hot outdoors). Iphone 14 pro suffers from the same but it takes noticeably longer to drop brightness.

Some gripe i have with pixel and these feature is the time it takes to complete these actions. I really wish they can speed up these process. Once i tried showing a colleague some features. It took so long it became so embarrassing. Also these features also take a toll on the thermals and battery life. I just wish Google could have a better processor and thermals.

The pixel 7 pro can take UltraHDR photos with gcam 9.1 but for some reason doesnt show anymore on google photos, I can see UltraHDR on lightroom only

u don't have to increase display size go to developer option tap on smallest display and change dpi it's far better than changing display size from display settings

For Pixel 8 pro they changed the smallest width to 448 DP, that’s why it looks smaller. I kind of like it tho.

Running cool for me. All day battery as well on the pixel 8. I'm not on a beta but my 6a on the beta definitely got hot sometimes. So far I haven't noticed much warmth only while charging once.

If you want new camera features you can sideload GCam version 9.1 with them enabled, and also Google Photos to take advantage of Ultra HDR photo and editing features. There's really not much else that changed to warrant upgrading after just one generation.

Great video as always! Watching the Google presentation, some of these features really tempted me to get the 8 Pro. After the last 2 years with my Pixel 6 Pro, however, my experience was horrible enough that I won't chance getting a Pixel again. I'm probably going back to Samsung. I'll even get an iPhone before I'll get another Pixel. I fully expect the same problems to be present on the 8 Pro that were on the 6 Pro. Google lost my trust. 💯

@@zebstime9668 Any problem you've heard of a phone having, I have had with the P6P, and I get new bugs with every update. Here are the ones I can think of: Bad connection, call drops, failed messages, overheating, horrible battery life, unresponsive fingerprint sensor, DND not turning on as scheduled, AV lag, lagging basic apps, apps closing at random, phone freezing, keyboard not appearing, glide typing not working, no mobile signal where other phones have one, headphones not connecting but will connect to every other device, notifications for an app suddenly stop, all notification dots stop, notification dot appears on app for sent messages, predictive text doesn't improve, blank home screen that takes 10 seconds or so to load icons, phone randomly reboots, etc. Let's not forget that the ads are out of control, even with an adblocker & a VPN. Samsung doesn't have ads like that. Or how you can only cast to a Chromecast TV or device, not Roku or Amazon. The Pixel 6 Pro doesn't have face unlock, which would've helped a bit since the fingerprint sensor is unreliable. Does that paint a clear picture for you?
