iPhone has excellent video quality in every condtion, this could change when Night Sight and Video Boost come to the Pixel. Photos its a toss up, you like contrast then iPhone. If you like bright more uniform photos then Pixel. iPhone also better with Portraits, Google needs to step up. Excellent video, real world use cases some of the best content on this Platform.🔥

Great video, overall in my opinion I fell like the Pixel was better but there was some pics/videos where the iPhone was clearly better. At the end of the day it's going to be on preference. Want to see the Pixel 8 pro vs S23 Ultra

Most pictures are better for editing on the pixel, but also iPhone has more Instagram ready pics, and while I prefer the pixel my wife will definitely prefer the iPhone. Videos are all much better on the iPhone though. Overall, I gotta admit that the iPhone is just and objectively better camera. However you must not forget that the pixel cost 200 dollars less

I have both phones and I can promise you the 5X camera on the iPhone is worse than the pixel. It only looks more detailed because it’s over sharpened. The pixel looks natural and if you want to add sharpness afterwards, you can.

Yeah but iphone just have a better speaker and vibration motor and overall solid phone feel and look but if you dont care about that then pixel for sure. I have a pixel 8 pro my grandma got the 15 plus and its really loud and feels like you dont have to worry about hitting the wrong button its solid but i dont really want a iphone. I want a solid android device 😂

Nice picture comparison! I'm a bit confused that you prefer the right picture at 2:22. I think it is unusable because of the blur on the faces, whereas the left is quite good (and can be improved by increasing contrast).

Really close comparison. One thing Ive always loved about pixel is the unblur feature. Most of the times, iphone then to blur while pixel does really well. I dont like the tons of hdr pixel introduces (its cool to have hdr, but guys, tend to down it a bit please 😅

Just a small tip, the light show of the Eiffel Tower at night is actually copyrighted for professional use so you might get a strike for it if you didn´t get approval for showing it in the video.

For the comparison of portraits it would be better to use also 1.5x or 2x on the iPhone. For 1x the persons are to far away. And it would be a better comparison. When you zoom in on pixel portraits you see that the cutout to the blur Effekt ist really bad on many pixel portraits. Which is the biggest downside on the pixel Kamera for me. Also to compare full 48mp fotos from iPhone to 50mp of pixel would be interesting.

The video on the Pixel has come a long way. One thing I noticed is that when you were walking through the tunnels the Pixel handled the shadows and noise almost perfectly. When recording the lady dancer the noise and shadows were also very well maintained. However, when you were recording the male dancer, it was very grainy and looked to have film over it which leads me to believe that's more of a software issue that I expect to be corrected absent of night video coming in December. I honestly believe after an update or two, the Pixel cameras won't need much a boost to begin with. Thanks for the lovely scenery and real world samples from both phones. To note the couple on the left were blurred on the iPhone @2:33 too while they were sharp and detailed on the Pixel.

I like the contrast on the iPhone better, but i absolutely hate their colors, especially at night when there is a lot of yellow/tungsten light. Pixel crushes iPhone in these scenarios. But overall there is still no competition for iPhone video, unless we are talking about very niche scenarios, like ultrawide night video - in those cases in my opinion nothing comes close to Oppo.

Umm do you know what your'e doing? lol. The Pixel has to crop in 1.5x while iPhone gives you the option to take 1x, 2x, and 5x portraits which is more versatile. The portrait shots from iPhone are superior in most other comparisons ive seen. But they were fair comparisons unlike yours. Remember, when it comes to portrait photos, the longer focal length is most important

Yes, using the primary camera (1X) for portraits was very harsh on the iPhone, especially at that distance, as the 5X portrait would have compared much better with the Pixel.

I think i know why the pixel can't keep the sky black and focus on the tower It's because of the HDR thing going on it's trying it's best to reveal hidden details in the dark . While iphone hdr isn't that getting into the way iphone hdr is found of keeping shawdow area dark so its likely to crush the dark and thus keeping the night sky totally black It's a pro in some areas and it's a con

Video on the iPhone was better. In photos, we sadly did not see the 5X portrait or even the 2X portrait, which would have shown better results for the iPhone. It is all very subjective with photos, as the Pixel overdid the highlights at times, and although the iPhone was darker per se, it was far more consistent. When the Pixel got it right, it was great, but it had too many misses for me, and it still has the flares from overdoing the brightening. I would choose the iPhone for the superior video, but if you take mainly photos and like brighter takes, then the Pixel would be best for that.

It is difficult for the camera to know if you want to expose what's in the shadows or you want a more true to life picture. I agree with you in that the defualt should be less brightened than what the Pixel shows. Still, at least on the Pixel, the user can choose. Problem with the iPhone is that it is't able to get the details in the shadow as well. So yeah, I still think the Pixel is better for me.
