those "scratches in the ocean" is actually the parts of the ocean we discovered the rest is hypothetical EDIT: okay sorry my bad you guys are right its the non scratched parts are satellite images and wow this comment blew u- gunshot I see that was the annoying kid but atleast let me say that I'm amazed that the creator of the video gave me a reply
@boomman1006 Жыл бұрын
Yeah how amazing to think that we have only discovered less than 10% of our oceans currently, as also being kinda terrifying at the same time.
@swarajtilekar3836 Жыл бұрын
The rest is real but it was scanned by Satellites and the "scratches" were scanned by boats
@basinho0211 Жыл бұрын
The parts that aren't scratched aren't hypothetical, they are just really low resolution since the scanning was done with satellites instead of boats. There could still be undiscovered things in the low resolution though.

You should really try Orbiter 2010 and/or Orbiter 2016. With the UMMU addon, you can land on a planet, get out of your ship and walk around. You can even build bases. And yes, you will need to keep your space suit on (except on Earth), or your character will die. It's ALMOST what you were talking about with combining Google Planets and Space Engine. The trade-off, of course, is that Orbiter doesn't support the entire universe, only our Solar System.
