Hi, should I delay, defer, preconnect, prefetch or load GTM JavaScript asynchronously? Which method would you recommend to speed up your page?

Hey there! The good news is that GTM JS loads asynchronously, so there's nothing you have to do to make that happen. I definitely would not delay the loading of the GTM script - I generally try to load that as high in the , and as early as possible. I have not worked with any preconnect or prefetch methods, so I can't make a recommendation there. It's possible that a site like Cloudflare may have some additional info.

Hi. Could you share the research you mention in "[...] the research has shown that if you put them in a tag manager, it's going to have a positive impact on the page speed" ? How/What was the tests made? Thanks.

Hi Leonardo! That's a great question. I was mainly thinking of the Julius Fedorovicius' blog post at analyticsmania.com - www.analyticsmania.com/post/google-tag-manager-impact-on-page-speed-and-how-to-improve/ His conclusions are more nuanced than my statement in the video, but the statement is still generally true. If you haven't read this particular blog yet, highly recommended! (As are all of his blogs!) Fred Pike / Northwoods
