I'm just over half way through this course. Overall it's great, really easy to digest bite size information so far and I'm sure the certificate paired up with a strong portfolio will be powerful to either hiring managers or potential clients. My only criticism so far is that course 4 is pretty damn slow and really could have focused on using tools such as Maze rather than making us put together spreadsheets that could've just been an affinity diagram from the start. Aside from that it's a great course and I'd recommend this as a starting point for any aspiring UX designer.

My experience: You will have a solid foundation of the UX design process and methods. Yes, Punit, we would very much appreciate an equally detailed and thoughtful review of the Interaction Design Foundation's UX Designer curriculum. It's comprised of 11 shorter courses, and the cost is free once one becomes a member of the Foundation ($192 per year in the U.S.). Im in the 5th course and honestly so far as a beginner in design this course has really been a big help and is very well structured for beginners. Personally what i feel that is lacking in this course is that there's no real feedback from peers. I write at-least 5 lines for every assignment I review and all I get back is one word review. Which is really bad one more thing is people rent actually putting in efforts to make their design better or do the bare minimum. Just yesterday i checked 5 assignments and out of 5 i rejected 4 cause they just want Upto the mark and had lot of mistakes.

Omg, I totally agree about the lack of constructive feedback. And not being able to respond when you actually get ONE useful bit of feedback (unless I’m missing something). Lol. I am starting course 6, and while I’ve learned a good bit so far, I feel like that missing valuable feedback makes this course feel not as well-rounded as it can be. And discussion forum interactions are hit or miss. Though I’ve learned most UX knowledge independently, I’m considering other one-off courses or a mentorship for this lack of feedback reason. If you’d like an accountability partner or need more constructive feedback on your design, I’m glad to provide!

What bothers me about this course is that Google itself has terrible usability in many areas and is notorious for ignoring user feedback, even with blatant bugs. I have the same question about google's own software usability which sucks quite often and you cannot complain or suggest something. How they can teach UX and not use this knowledge by themselves? One drive I see in Google products when they change is make more money by any means, another is to lock user to their ecosystem - the same as all corporations do.

I completed them... It definitely worth it .. u are going to learn various ux terms as well as business terms and process.. Gives a holistic and streched approach to User experience.. But at last these courses are just an addition to your skills that will help you to do it like great professionals.. But designers don't care .. whatever the process, it need to be solved with great solution..and if not reiterate it..

I’m taking the course now. It’s a good introduction to things I didn’t know… downfall is definitely the peer review… I have no real feedback on the course, usually just a good job

Hello, I’m interested in ux designing. I’m interested in google course and noticed the peer review isn’t helpful. Would you suggest finding a mentor or hiring a ux designer pro for there time to review your work as well while taking the course? Thank you!
