@GBVendettaGB not really, this is a more wave like docs. wave was meant more for conversations and sharing whereas this is meant solely for productivity.

@XQZEK Yes Google Docs can open MS Office files. It's an office suite like MS Office or Libreoffice but it's web based and is more better for collaboration between people on the same file.

Google Docs, is the embodiment of awesomeness. It's simple, free, light-weight, accessible and simply AWESOME. I can access Google Docs on my cellphone! I mean, surely you'd have to be mad to try to be productive on a 240x400 touchscreen device, but it works!

Don't know if you've heard of these, but its a combination of Microsoft Word, Dropbox, and Primary Pad: All in a simple, free online product you can access anywhere.

@BalramRules well the whole idea that it's online is that you can access the files from whatever computer you want. anyway if you had a offline it would be the same thing just in a different program. so you'd have two programs open, when you could just have one open with multiple tabs. =D

google wave is great,since it is real-time live,me and my friends can work on a document real fast,3 friends = thrice the speed,no need to forward whatsoever and now they added that feature to google docs,nice!

Currently testing this out and it seems like I can't shrink an image when I insert it into Google Docs. Perhaps this is something they may look into before I will start regularly using this program.

Are these real spreadsheets? Microsoft Excel is priceless if you ask me! If Google spread sheets were as capable as Excel then I would be on board 100% I'm a small business owner and I use VLookups, HLookups, Trends, Sumif, Count, Indirect, SQRT, Average, IF, sdev, Hyperlinks, etc... not to mention visual basic, and macros. Can Google Docs perform like Excel?

Any spreadsheet I open has a "New Version" link on top right. Looks nice. No change with the documents, though, which is what I'm really looking for.

It seems that Google just keeps getting better, and kicking Microsoft with little or no costs. Not sure why people would want to have a large program sitting on their computer when they can just use Google Docs to handle "most" of their office applications. I like the new features.

@webpaulo LOL I posted that last year-it doesn't mean Microsoft word is actually free-I was just saying that Google Docs is like a free version of Microsoft word. I said that a year ago, and I disagree now because Microsoft has way more features than Google Docs.

I wonder why Google does save user's information and documents forever even if he/she deletes it. I have eperienced some upseting issues that silently confirm this behaviour. i will try to contact google tomorrow by phone.

Google Docs is really cool, and i think it will improve productivity in our company if we use it. But I don't know how to persuade my bosses; when it comes to privacy, it's a big doubt about storing classified information on foreign servers.....

Micrsoft gives 25 GB of space on it skydrive. google only gives 1 GB. So Skydrive> google docks
