Wish I had this as a kid. I would've discovered my interest in Computer Science and Programming way before leaving school.

You probably did have these as options. Google isn't the first to offer this technology. Stuff like this has been available for over ten years. Google seems to be bringing it to the mainstream which is a great thing.

How old are you? I'm 25 and it wasn't difficult to find for me. I started when I was 8, and that's with a computer illitterate family and school. I really can't see this giving much pleasure to even the more technically inclined students. No more than a computer, lego or meccano would.

Völundr Frey 20. Even if my school just had some type of IT/Computer Science class. The only IT we had was for 1 year after joining secondary school(basically High School), where we were taught how to type without looking at the keyboard. That would've been more than enough to get me into it. Giving me just under 10 years to get into it, not 6 months.

What is this urge to get everyone into computer science and programming? It's a very particular skill, there's a reason why computer science students have an average IQ of over 120. It's essentially applied maths (which I guess you could call anything). It's also a very stressful job, it really is not for everyone. Unless you're really serious about your love for computers, I'm talking people should be trying and failing to drag you away from them, then you have no place in computer science. Edit: I know that I will get hated on by a load of teenagers who made their own autohotkey script or whatever and now are software architects. If you think programming is fun then you haven't done it professionally for very long, my colleagues can back me up on this.
