It's a kind of interesting. But two questions: 1. I go in the forrest and get lost. Can I somehow go on reverse track and/or follow another preloaded track? 2. Can I use it to chart my bigger trips with car, motorcycle where making hundreds of km/day? See, I am not interested in sport aspects, I'm interested in traveling (locations) aspects

At 2:45 he explains how to get the link to the my maps map. If you have made your my maps public (there is a setting for this in My Tracks) then if you paste that link to facebook then you can probably share it there. However it is not a one click thing.

buddy runner is way less complicated...awesome...the only thing this has better is the elevation..i have not seen that in br..however you dont need to do lots of steps to manage your stats.

It can be shared in on your maps in google maps, to google drive, and perhaps to google plus, so if you can work out a way of sharing the link on facebook then yes. I don't know how yet. If someone works out how then please let us know. MapMyRide used to share a map to facebook but recently I think that one only shares a link to the MapMyRide sight that means facebook friends have to be a member to see the route, so it is now a lot more difficult to brag.

i always wondered how far i am running and how fast my pace is. since I have my phone with me most of the time, it would be great to be able put it to use and keep track of my running data conveniently.

If you have google earth on your phone you can import google earth to My Tracks so that you can view the track in Google Earth. I am not sure about the other way around.

Why is this a separate App? This should be a feature in Google Maps. This also uses an older version of Google Maps. Lot of locations visible on Maps are not visible on My Tracks. Cached Maps are downloaded again in My Tracks. Why? Please unify Maps, Navigation & My Tracks... This app deserves more love from Google.

@DAB0690 if your on data or 3g the map is free...online the nexus ones gps is very accurate.... i dont know if you could port your map to mytrack... how ever there another one called orux map or andnav which can make customized maps

How does the accuracy compare to to that of a Garmin Edge 705? How much flexibility is there in interrogating the data afterward? I'd like to have something as good or (preferably) better than Garmin's Training Center.

My Tracks seems to have had some major updates. This video could use an update as well. The app that is shown does not seem to resemble the app I just downloaded. The new app does not seem to have all the functionality shown in this recording.

I have this installed in my Android. Love it. However, If I am out in the wilderness without cell reception, the map cannot appear on the phone. How can I get a topo map or something to put under the layer so I can see the terrane I am hiking on I'm going to Escalante and would like not to get lost and also see where I need to be. and am. Your response is appreciated.

the ONLY problem with all that, is that the ONLY android running phone is ONLY available in USA....wake up google, your platform will be DOA if you can't interest developers to develop for it, and for that you need to reach a critical mass of users.
