“It’s often easier to make something 10X better than to make it 10% better.” -Google’s Captain of Moonshots, Astro Teller, shares his “Santa Claus moment” on what it means to think in 10x. Watch the video from Think Cloud 2013.

Google makes my life 10x better. Am I a fan boy? Sure. Am I a realist more so? Absolutely!

at spot 05:15 - It's way more FUN to work on the 10X Projects. If more CEO's could see more of what they can do for their companies.. How much do you want me to make a difference every quarter in your company?

I like the stories about the construction industry........ architect vs general contractor .... and how technology could change the status quo

18:40 "if you are going to make the world slightly better, then you have to claw for those pennies...if you make the world seriously better, 10x better than the alternative, then the money will find you." Been looking for half an hour for this video (that I watched back in 2013), for this one quote, which I think is so relatable. When discussing radical, high level change, people are wont to say 'but what are the practical applications of this?' but if you can achieve that perspective-changing goal then it will filter down to real practical benefits.

You could build a space elevator(and or train), building the rail as you go up with a 3D printer building it as it goes up; coming down to resupply, using some sort of titainium, carbon nano material,Carbyne. something that is extremely strong but still printable. Just a thought

Have you tried this at a smaller level? Table to ceiling and test different weights on it?

This is great man. I'm building a company that is building purely theoretical technologies 🥲 Very hard to be confident in the stuff you're building if there's no proof for it yet. But we'll make it 💪 failure ❌ learning opportunity ✅
