Hello drinkhot and spoon, I am 17 and recently started my 4th year at college after doing courses outwith my secondary school(I live in the UK) and have run myself into a mental rut. I have lost all drive and enjoyment for all of my life going forward and really don’t want to continue going the direction I am going. This isn’t a spur of the moment feeling as I have been feeling gradually more unmotivated for years and even went to therapy about suicidal urges before and I feel like going forward it is only going to get worse. I have recently tried getting back into a better routine with sleep and working out however even that has not made me feel more motivated or hopeful about my future. My parents are pressuring me to get a job yet, as I have learned from my last job, that would just push me further into a worse spot. My question to you is, have you ever felt unmotivated or not wanting to continue in life, especially at the age I am now, and if so how did you deal with it ?

Most days are still a struggle to get through and not a lot has changed but I'm a lot more at peace with my situation and how I feel about life. Moving onto uni this year, still lack the motivation but have decided to move forward with life in spite of this . And although this question is directed towards strong man dinkbot but you can answer too spoon. What diets or workout programs do you reccomend? And should I get a gym membership to go with my friends or save the money?

Personally, what worked for me was doing weight training for gaining muscle mass. When you have some established muscle it's much easier to lose weight. I haven't done cardio in about a year and I'm in pretty good shape. If strictly weight training doesn't work for you Maybe do some HITT along with the weight training.

Planed fitness has this black card membership thing where u can bring 1 extra person with u, save some money, stand outside and make a friend there 😂 But they got some sisi rules like no loud outburst or flexing and that shxt and their equipment is more for casual workout and muscle toning not so much beast mode ripped type training

im 15 and 5 6i kind of have same issue BUT I CANT GAIN WEIGHT, i have barely hit 50kg, i have a good amount of upperbody muscle, i work out oftenly, i go on 100 steps upto school and shit which keeps me fit, I EAT alot i think. I eat large bowl of cereal mixing it together other ones or 2-3 eggs with 4-6 sliced bread (my homies at school eat 2 for breakfast and they are heavier than me)sliced pepperoni with tomatoes and olives cheese and more every morning and eat 3 times a day. the reason behind this is my fast metabolism system which does not make me gain weight but a slow metabolism system will gain weight alot and struggle to lost it. i reccomend you watch what u eat and dont forget to work out at the same time. eat small as much as you can. basically starve yourself

I think it is a slope and u must get up, break the bubble and do little steps. Talk more and more, meet more and more people, be open more and more, fear less and less and it will get better in time, cuz it needs time, but you must also learn to be alone and know that theres is nothing wrong with being alone. Its easier to be constantly with people and some people need that, cuz they can't survive alone in 4 walls, you know what I mean. Its harder to be alone, live by yourself, but it will pay off, you will be strong person, I wish you that.

I need some life advice, I'm currently 17 and my life is not going very well. Most of it started last summer when I lost my entire friend group over a girl because I had liked her for roughly 2 years and my old friends had be-friended her and I tried to make a move and they all ditched me (the girl ended up dipping for some random guy). It was a very low blow for me that damaged me a lot and drove me to a dark place. Then 2 months later I started dating a girl that was very toxic towards me that I ended up leaving for after a month which was for the better but still hurt because it was my first relationship. I've also had a lot of family issues that have all in combination lead me to signs of depression. I've tried reaching out but because im a minor there's not much I can do and therapy is also very expensive. I still have a couple friends that I talk too that keep me going. I'm just completely lost and confused and I dont even know what I'm going to do with my life. I'm not gonna say you are the only thing keeping me going because thats not entirely true but your content has brought me a lot of comfort and laughs in this very dark time in my life, So thank you spoon..... and dinkbot. Hey fellas. I have a pretty good life, but I’ve always struggled with the feeling that I’m disconnected from reality. I’m 17 and for the past few years I’ve had this feeling that nothing was real. Im 18 and ride bmx bikes as my main hobby and am pretty decent at it, not like the guys on xgams or anything doing front flips of random roofs or anything. But I can grind down handrails on staircases and do a a dozen or so pretty cool tricks. Recently tho I have been kinda discouraged to even get on my bike because all my friends and all the people in the area ride park, and I ride street. Hey spoon I've been watching you for 2 years now and you really got me into rust so I decided to get rust console when it first came out and I just can't do it anymore and am really thinking about getting a pc but am unsure if I should sell my PlayStation and all my games to buy a pc and be able to play rust over the summer or if I should get a summer job and since I'm 16 I could get a decent job and also be able to get a pretty decent pc to play rust and play it when I come back to school (keep in mind when I come back I'll be in 4th year which is a doss year in Ireland so I will have lots of time to play) thanks spoon and donkbot

ADVICE NEEDED Me and my friend Jack are quite close and go to the same school. Our other friend Savannah goes to a different school and has a friend named Sarah. Sarah and I talked for about a month a while ago and it didn't work out. At a certain point I realized my friend Jack would be better with her. I nudged him to pursue but he wouldn't. He finally did and now we both think it's a little weird. We're not sure how to feel about the whole situation and our friend Savannah feels kind of weird about it too. What should we do?

im supposed to be going to college soon kinda flunked out of highschool because of one test i didnt take at the end of the year, trying to get my ged and I've been quarantined with my grandmother watching over her after my grandfather passed for the past like two years. My life has basically become wake up, get on computer, go to sleep. feels like its never going to stop ive kinda stopped eating, and ive always been introverted but recently ive started to get super anxious about going in any public spaces. how do I accept mortality and that the most important years of my life are being wasted and what can I do about it

When i was in third grade, there was this pissy kid who licked the cheese sauce off the school lunch cheeseburgers and wore knee high socks, showering once a month. Anyways, i smacked this guy in bump ( a basketball game) at recess and he called me a chicken and threw pebbles at me. I then proceeded to chuck a playground ball at the back of his head and i got sent to the principal's office for being violent. My mom got mad at me and from then on i had beef with the principal for overlooking the situation and thinking i was the protagonist.

Hey Spooner, I'm almost 20 and I've been working at the same job since I dropped out of school and don't know if it's really worth going for my GED and getting other schooling after that. My job pays me really well and I'm possibly up for a promotion, do you think it's a good idea to go back to school or should I just keep working my way up at my current job?

Why don't you get your GED on the side? sometimes the job subsidises it, and possible university as well, you can stay at your job and do your GED, maybe look into it
