Eric, Rush Trucking. They have shops nationwide and unlike RV shops, you're not waiting forever to get in the door! They get it in and fix it. A drivers lounge in all of them or shuttles to a motel if its going to take longer. I used them as a trucker and yes in the RV. Blue Sky's and Safe Journeys!

You can get the injectors rebuilt for around $25-$30 each. That will bring them back to original spec. So say $250 instead of $800-$1,000 for new injectors. Most decent sized towns have injector service shops.

Sounds more like a fuel supply issue so the regulator than a leaking injector.. if one cylinder was flooding, it wouldn't stop the other 7 from firing

The central coast of Oregon has many great places. You'll have fun along there! My son & I spent summer in our popup chalet trailer along the central coast. You have to start worrying about crime when you cross into California- Del Norte & Humboldt counties will have glass from windows in many camping areas. Lots of car break ins. Right now there are lots of slides along the coast. Have fun!

Been watching a bunch of Campervan Kevin and your videos and a few others you have met and have enjoyed them. We have a 33 foot Grey Wolf towable right now and can only enjoy it a few weeks here and there in our own state of MS due to family and job obligations but you have given us a lot of ideas for future trips out of state once things lighten up. By the way we have two cats (Pumpkin and Spice) both real brothers and have enjoyed Jax and yes you are right we are their servants! So thank you for sharing what you do and where you go.

Hi Eric, I had a fuel pump fail on me while dragging the travel trailer over the weekend, had to get towed back....it would do that little short start then die off, when I got into it, the fuel pressure gauge that i hooked to the test port of the manifold rail would climb to about 10-20 psi if I did the on-off several time with the key before trying to start it ( energizing the fuel pump about 2-3 seconds each time).... then when I started it it would die after about 10-20 seconds. I replaced the fuel pump, then checked the fuel rail pressure and it had shot up to 52 psi and everything is good. 225 dollars later and a ruined weekend.

4:45 I drive roads narrower than that in the smokey mountains. Just need to go slow and put your 4ways on. plus stop for oncoming traffic. btw I drive a semi.

I was fascinated by the tower and its artwork. Scaffolding. Kindegarden Cop with Arnold was shot there, too. I loved Washington/Oregon videos. Drove through years ago road tripping with my young daughter who is now in the film business. it is so great to see people offer mechanical advise and help. This is literally the only channel that watch and never miss an episode. Really looking forward to your trip south on 101.

Something you may want to check is your engine oil. If you pull the dip stick out and if the oil smells like gasoline you may want to have the oil changed more often. If gas is leaking out of the injectors, it could be washing some of the oil off the engine cylinder’s wall’s, causing long term cylinder and or ring wear, plus having the engine oil being diluted with gas is harmful to the rod and crank bearings plus the crankshaft journals. I had to replace my fuel pressure regulator on my big block GMC P-U, and had to remove the intake plenum, not much fun! Best of luck.

I love Astoria, we have been many times and I have never seen the tower or done the Goonies tour. We always camp at Fort Stevens and then just go into Astoria to eat. I see another trip is in order. Thank you Eric.

my riding mower does that when I accidentally flood it. just takes a few minutes for the gas to evoperate and it starts right up. jax are you hungry? MEOW!!!!! I think that means yes. lol

I had a water/engine temp sensor that was bad (not indicating a warm engine when the engine was warm) and the engine would run rich on gas ALL the time. Gas mileage was bad and you could smell it in the exhaust as an indicator of the issue when the engine is hot. When the engine is cold the injectors double up on gas/air mixture so the motor runs smooth when cold. When the engine warms up the temp sensor should tell the computer to cut back to normal air/fuel mixture. I think it would be worth checking the sensor when the engine is warm. An oil change shop can check it for you quickly and I would bet that might be a simple fix to your starting/flooding issue... Since you mentioned flooding it sounds like you are smelling the addtional fuel not burning since the engine is already hot.

try cycling the fuel pump two or three times..if it fires right up its most likely your fuel pump starting to go bad, ethanol is tough on them

My $$ is on fuel pump. Small GM fuel filters on vehicles that get 8 mpg = short filter life & high amp load on pump. Cycle key on for 5 seconds a couple times before cranking. Reputable shops should have test equipment to isolate return fuel flow to diagnose your issue. If over 100k mileage on that pump, it won't be long, hot days with low fuel level will kill it soon.

Been there to Astoria many times, such an incredible place. As you go further south along the coast, you will find some incredible places to stop. DO NOT RUSH!!! Take your time, even if you go 20 miles in one day. Relax and enjoy yourself. I have several videos of different places along the Oregon Coast. Right now it is also whale watching season, so be sure to stop off as some of the viewing sites along the way.
