The "famous" was Tunguska Event, which of course was Tesla's Death Ray ;) (or I think 60-80m meteor, so yes, smaller than this near miss.). So yeah, worst case scenario and this wipes e.g. ENTIRE state of Maryland. Or turns 90% of NYC into flatland. Plus the tsunami-like effects. No radiation though!
