Right now It would be tough to argue with that. They are one bad ass jam band for sure. They blew past moe. and Phish in the past year or so. They are masters at improvisation and tension/ release. Goose also have subtle dynamics that most bands can only dream of. Throw in awesome vocal harmonies and incredibly cool lyrics and you have a musical toure de force on your hands. They are clearly at the top of their game right now...

I will say that as a GD fan, one thing I loved is that the jams would have a pretty distinct thread tied to the song. maybe Goose is more type 2 jams but I would have a hard time jumping into a jam midway through and identifying the song

Honestly, I don’t have another “jam band” that I would recommend because I don’t really care for “jam bands” phish is more prog rock to me if I’m being totally honest. So I don’t really have recommendations there. I’ve been on a meshuggah kick lately so I may not be the best person to ask lol.
