I'm 60. Last show I saw before the pandemic shutdown everything was Goose opening for Pigeons Playing Ping Pong March 2020. These guys are going places, can't wait until things start opening up again so they can get back on the road. I'd rather see some of these up and coming bands in smaller venues then see my favorites from the 1970's in their 70s playing in big arenas for mucho bucks.
@harryhood62703 жыл бұрын
They cancelled the show here in Nashville one day before. I’m not even much of a pigeons fan, I was going pretty much for Goose specifically. Was gonna catch them in Nashville which is where I live, then take the trip out to Knoxville the next day. However imo pigeons should be opening for Goose. Pretty soon that’s probably gonna be the case.

This was some truly next level stuff by all in the video. Rick, Peter, Ben, Trevor, and all on the crew. An early glimpse into 4 musicians together playing on an entirely different plane. I’m so glad that I found Goose when I did but I would give anything to go back and see them in this 2019 era. I’d be lying if I said that I wouldn’t be listening to these guys if they stuck with JUST this style, because I would be. I’m so glad they’ve crossed into other genres, because I’ve only grown to love them more. But if they just played small venues playing just this jamming style for the rest of my life, I’d probably still go to every show that I could.

What’s great about this band is there is SO much potential. @Goose - if you guys keep up that stellar song writing and explore out of your comfort zone (dance beat), yes you could take the torch from Phish. Some slow ballads, spacer songs that give us a chance to breathe in between that pure fire you hose onto the audience. 😎 easier said than done but I think you guys can totally do it. (Trevor is great, adds the perfect tension and dissonance to the crescendos)

why do all these lame jambands do talking heads? TH last toured in 1983 (36 years ago) and their last album NAKED was from 1988.(31 years ago) that's before these guys were born. They have ZERO "connection" to TH music. They didn't see them. They didn't grow up liking them. Yet everyone from phish, string cheese, umphrey's, widespread, pigeons and now these guys cover them. And they only do the well known songs (psycho killer, life during wartime) or songs that were covered by Phish (crosseyed) furthering the fact that they REALLY don't know TH at all. They aren't "influenced" by them either. It's just the cool thing to do and phish did it, so they have to. Yuck. These guys are just more phish fans,. Talented yes. Original, no.
@topreddead2clips3865 жыл бұрын
lol, angry? Why can't they be inspired and influenced by a band that came and went before their time? Who are you to say they have zero connection to TH. Based on their chops, it's easy to say they've dug deep into C&P and prob have a deeper connect to TH than you do. By your shitty logic, nobody alive today should appreciate Bach, Shakespeare, Beethoven ,etc. For all you know, one or more of these guys grew up idolizing the Heads. Maybe their parents spun Heads vinyl throughout their childhood. Maybe the keyboardist was inspired to play keys by the amazing synth work on Remain in Light. TH had a huge impact on pop music, at least you have these bands carrying their legacy forward. You should be pumped that young people in 2019 are inspired to appreciate and share the true classics of rock/pop music. If you were a true TH fan you would appreciate that aspect of it instead of waving your fist at the sky like Grandpa Simpson.
@mountain99545 жыл бұрын
Peter North, you need to settle down snowflake. And you have to have been born when music was created to have a connection? That is one of the dumbest comments I have ever heard. So I shouldn't have a connection to Miles Davis, Iron Maiden, Led Zepplin... etc. Is that what you're saying? You sound like an absolute fool.
@jkweddingentrancesux5 жыл бұрын
@@mountain9954 I am saying these guys didn't se them. didn't grow up waiting for the next album etc. TH were not cool. they were a cult thing even tho they had a few minor radio hits. and a few vids. it is just weird that ALL these jam bands coincidentally are into them? i highly doubt it. search talking heads covers and they all play life during wartime, psycho killer, naive melody, road to nowhere OR crosseyed. so, yeah..either 1) their best known songs or 2) the songs phish covered. what about the other 100 plus songs that are better/as good? these guys do NOT know/like TH except on a surface level/phish fan kind of way. AND JAMBAND MUSIC IS ABOUT 100% OPPOSITE OF TH MUSIC. th fans detest jam bands. it's just a weird thing.
@mountain99545 жыл бұрын
It's okay that you don't get it... You really are over thinking things bud. There is a really simple solution also, if you don't dig it move along.
@phbartoli5 жыл бұрын
@@jkweddingentrancesux you have an extremely narrow definition of "jam band music" . I saw phish cover the entire Remain in Light album in 1996. This album inspired them to move in a more percussive direction which gave birth to "cow funk", if you like Phish you would understand. I think many of these bands are huge phish fans and the Talking Heads is not lost on them. So, perhaps that is why. But, this is like questioning any band covering the Beatles, which they all do, and for good reason!
