Michelins weather pretty quick too, but I read that it is because the formula they use for comfort ride deteriorates quickly. I would recommend michelins for someone that rides a lot of miles in a couple of years. More than 3 years, recommend something else

All tires crack with time. UV light and exposure to elements crack the tire. What's the point of this video?...is there a tire that doesn't crack or something?

by the date code on the tire its was made in 2011 so its 7 years old which should not be USED THAT'S WHY THE TIRE SAFETY CORP. SAYS DON'T RUN TIRES OLDER THEN 6 YEARS OLD THAT 7 YEAR OLD GOODYEAR TIRE IS UNSAFE TO USE ANYMORE !!

It's funny a lot of cheap China tires don't dry rot nearly as bad. Maybe using an ingredient that is banned in North America for health and safety?

It's just their compound isn't as eco friendly i think, modern tires use silica and more natural rubber. In the same way old skool tires lasted a long time since they must've used a plain compound made of synthetic rubber.

Dry rot sure can be a tire safety issue, but slamming Goodyear here is BOGUS. That tire was made in 44th week of 2011 (4411 DOT code on the tire). ANY 7 yr old tire from ANY maker is going to show some dry rot ....and is living on borrowed time. There are plenty of vid's showing dry rot on much younger tires from other makes. And what's with the quick moving camera? Slower or stills would show whatever it is you want to show.

i got a brand new 2017 honda civic, came with goodyears. shit dry rotted on the side wall quarter sized spider web it was leaking air when parked. goodyears are pieces of shit and unsafe

Tires don't last forever and should be replaced after 5 years no matter what normally.

99% of tire rubber are from crude oil not latex. I had good year tires are excellent, as good as Michelin or Pirelli but not as good as Continental in term of dry rot resistance. If we always park it in the garage or live in mild weather like Seatle or cold area, tires last much longer. Easily 2-3 x longer than in Texas/Arizona.
