In pumpkin pitha the shape is not like pumpkin , We have to add boiled pumpkin paste with rice powder dough and it add colour and a flavour of pumpkin .That's why it is called pumpkin pitha . We call it 'Lau pitha' or 'Rangalau pitha'( In assamese Rangalau means pumpkin ) .You should try the authentic 'Lau pitha' .
