This is a scandal! My first and last GoPro was the 7 Black and I don't want a GoPro in my life anymore. I thought these problems were solved but no! It's still the same old GoPro crap! And people keep buying GoPros! That's what's incredible! Two GoPro HERO 7 Black that I bought and both broke. One stopped turning on and the other frezzes as soon as we turned it on after a few seconds. And GoPros aren't even cheap!! This is unacceptable! GoPro is an official and monumental scam!

The new battery design is what prevented me from buying a GoPro 13. I have used the GoPro 9 for nearly 4 years now, and it finally died for good, so I was going to upgrade, and it looks like I might end up going with the GoPro 12 instead. I have 4 working batteries and a charger. If I buy a GP12 then I get a 5th battery. I already have everything else I need. I don't need any new lenses or accessories.

I got mine two weeks ago. So far mine has frozen twice. It’s such a pain. Then I got the new ultra wide lense mod. When I put it on it came up as a macro lense. So weird. Then took off put back on and it came up perfect as the ultra wide lense. Overall great camera but sucks it freezes

I've bought 3 gopro's and returned all 3 because of random crashes - the big ones and the tiny ones, and over different major versions. Feel so bad for them as a company - there is obviously something very basic (and most likely easily fixable) at the firmware level or hardware level e.g. CPU issue, bad ram indexing, buffering recursion, induction from components etc. that is a bug that over many version has still not been found and resolved. Don't want DJI because you have install their APK on your android phone i.e. huge security risk just to update the firmware (no reason can't download and install firmware as a file onto the device). Really not sure what to get as a replacement - I need to be able to trust the country that manufactures the device. Are there any other good companies based in US / UK / EU anyone can recommend (even if startups)?

All those accessories just to get the most out of the thing, how awful, I'm not impressed either... I was waiting and hoping for great things from the 13, I was wondering whether to add it to my 10, think I'll stick with the 10, as frustrating as that can be in aspects. I appreciate you keeping it real. And giving us the truth and you true thoughts

Why don’t you try using a high speed sd card? Me and my buddies have had zero problems with our Gopros.

Thank you for your honest thoughts and taking the time for some experimentation. You have saved me a ton of money. It will be interesting to see DJI's new model by way of comparison. 👍

Damn....everything is so disappointing with this product.....Used to have a hero 3+ and hero 4 silver, they just worked without issues so good cameras.Of course they had no competition and the battery's where always the weak points.But now we come to this:Selling 12 as 13 in " new" body, every "new" feature this camera has been sold separately.Jesus...Can a company become more ignorant?Magnetic release and magnetic charge is cool but why is not included?Also magnetic charge should have been on the other side so you don't loose access to the usb-c port....Might aswell spend this money on any other camera...

Back in the day when GoPro first came out they were amazing. I had 3 of the Hero 3 models. Sure, they were fiddly but they had no competition to speak of and when they worked the shots you could get were amazing. Jump forward to the 21st century and they have gotten worse, not better. Lock ups and freezes that trash your footage, overheating issues, and sky-high prices have driven me on to other cameras. So sad GoPro refused to listen to their customers...you know - the people they're supposedly marketing to...and just continued to run the product and the company into the ground. I'll never own another GoPro product. Even if you gave me one, I wouldn't use it. I need to know my cameras will get the shots and my footage won't get trashed in a crash. Zero confidence in this company and their products anymore.
