Thanks for responding to my question on Amazon. I haven't bought a GoPro 4 Black yet, but my thought is that though your card used in the video is recommended on GPs website, at a write speed of 45 Mb/s it's at the bottom or even below their Hero4 Black's recommended 60 Mb/s (they say 45 Mb/s for Silver edition), so maybe it's too slow/hot. Personally, I'm going to buy the Extreme Pro that says it writes up to 90 Mb/s & see if that helps. Higher capacity cards also write slightly slower than lower capacity ones. You said your card worked in Silver, but not Black. The Silver has a less demanding processor so maybe that made a difference. I don't know for sure; experimenting myself & might have to return the cam in the future. Good luck to ya, thanks for sharing your knowledge with all of us. You're a good man, appreciated, keep sharing.

World Traveler The first thing people say when they see my unbelievable video is to blame the sd card. World Traveler the same minimum write speed for the 4 Silver, is the same minimum write speed for the 4 Black which is a minimum of 45mbps not 60 as you stated in your comments above, you can use the same sd card in either camera. You can call gopro at (888) 600-4659 to verify what i just said, and get back to me. The camera froze no matter which card i used, trust me I tried. Gopro verified that my sd card is correct, and admitted that the camera is just bad. You mentioned using a Extreme Pro that says it writes up to 90 Mb/s, that is a very good idea, but if you have a bad camera, the sd cards, or updates wouldn't do any good anyway. I know you mean well, just know that I'm not the only person having these issues. Some people have zero issues , I'm just showing what happened to me.

Damn brother. That truly sucks man. As you said, I've never had any issues with the SJ4000. It is just lacking in features (no wifi although there is a wifi model; no audio jack; no "true" 60fps). But I have no complaints. Paid $75, shipping included, on Amazon. They are even cheaper now. Saw a new one on eBay for $40!

I returned the 4 black, and got a new replacement, I like the Gopros because they have lots of options, but I totally agree with you SJ4000 users don't have lots of complaints, I think Gopros are expensive throw-away camera's.

I just bought a TCL SVC200 for $103, shipping included, on Amazon. I'm not planning on using it as my main motovlogging camera, just as a "dash" cam. That said, I've got a video coming out on Friday where I did use the TCL SVC200 for a motovlog. I forgot to charge my SJ4000 that day...:-( I still prefer the SJ4000 to the TCL SVC200.

Did you know, a high percentage (probably near 99%) of the electronics we use are made in China? I don't think where it's manufactured is the issue. That is definately a strange issue, I've not had that on my Hero4 Black.

Impractic4l I agree most things are made over seas, including my Goldwing. I get frustrated when something that suppose to works just stop working, its a love hate relationship, lol.

I have a bunch of cards, UHS1 and UHS3, in 32 and 64GB sizes, but haven't had any lockups on my Hero3 silver or Hero4 Black.

I just watched it. I don't think you're doing anything wrong, but I would experiment with other brands/sizes of SD card.

Whats weird is that I'm using the recommended micro SD cards types, and speeds from the gopro website that they approved.

Chris I don't have experience using them but I wonder if you ever tried one of the dirt cheap $50-80 Chinese GoPro copies on eBay? There are many different ones; SJ4000, SJ6000, or SJ7000 and others, There are YT videos about them too. I am just wondering with all your problems with these things if the more expensive Gopro is realy worth it? kind of like your cheaper gloves you say are better than your expensive gortex ones, the cheap camera might not be bad.

+Tom k2bew I have resolved my gopro issues since I made this video, but I gave away 2 of the camera's that you listed, they work really good, but gopro has better frame rates, and higher image quality than all other action cams.
