Oh but dji has been ready for this for months. Conveniently they released a teaser video for their next drone on the morning of the Karma's release, due to be announced on the 27th. And the "leaks" that are out for it, which look so authentic to the bits we saw in the teaser video, show something that folds up to be even smaller than the Karma. They so did all that on purpose to steal gopro's thunder. If in 7 days dji comes out with a better product, and they probably will, gopro is almost completely fucked.

eh, slightly nothing a software update can't fix. The image quality is better then some DJI shots Ive seen. The best part is if GoPro updates the gimbal design you don't need to buy a whole new drone. If they update the camera, you can swap it out. That is whats really dope.

Don't make him an idiot. There are some distorsions. The high buildings don't have the edges parallel. You can see this guy's video with the comparison between Phantom 4, Mavic and a Parrot. The P4 and Mavic don't have those distorsions, even if the image quality of Mavic is lower. P4 from DJI has the best image quality at the moment and fits better for aerial, no distortions. Relax!

Which equal's marketing hype for a new product. I'll wait till #eveRide tries one out.

***** IRS says product or payment...I know I do marketing and I test products and I think through ways to promote products. Hope he talk about it, they knew he would talk about it. He has an audience and GoPro knows this, lot's of people know this at 4 million subs that is 4 million direct people to market too. They know he uses drones to shoot videos, I bet Casey has sold (without knowledge himself) dozens upon dozens of P4's. There will be a portion of the audience that would buy poop if this guy says it, just like if some celeb like Jay Leno say's buy this vehicle or stay away from that vehicle there will be a portion that take their word as Gospel. It's how it works, people are funny animals. Look at the people that leg hump, this guy is like anyone else...but they will defend him without really knowing him because they have an emotional attachment. Now I dropped into talking about Psychology and how people relate to others and live life's through others. Back to the main point, who knows if he was sponsored or not. With 4 million subs if he said I want 2 GoPro Karma's they will give him 2. I'm small potatoes and I get free stuff left and right. Companies understand the power of KZbin, and how you are marketing directly to an audience that will have interest in items. For example I can spend millions on a commercial for a GoPro Karma drone, however how many people that see that commercial really have an interest in drones? You are basically tossing stuff out there and hope it sticks you hope a 5 million viewed commercial get's you 1% in sales. Plus it cost every time it airs. KZbin videos unless KZbin goes under will be around forever so you might get product sales (depends on the product and the rate of change) 5-10 years down the road from a KZbin video. A lot of companies understand Print ads are dead, and commercials who watches them? I download my TV shows and the nice people cut them out. So whether it was "sponsorship" or not GoPro got what THEY wanted and to a business that is all that matters. Someone said a GoPro rep was there too, so so they made sure Casey was happy with it. Plus they might of used any negative (if there was any that was not shown) as what needs to be improved on. Marketing is very interesting and why I like it. I love how people get emotionally attached to people they don't know or products. It's a good study.

Dope. Definitly a game changer. My friend has an inspire 1 that we used it to record some footage for our Slip N Slide video and i don't know what happened but the lens or something got some kind of condensation in it and the footage didn't turn out as good as it should of. It wasn't terrible and we still used some of the footage in our video. But anyways probably going to go with the Karma bundle cause 1000 dollars for a drone, gimbal, and hero 5 black you can't go wrong with that.

Honestly, I'm going to go with the karma when it comes to comparing the DJi Mavic to the Karma because 1. It's $200 cheaper 2. The Karma comes with a $300 hand-held stabilizer as the Mavic only includes the drone and a controller 3. From the looks of the comparison, it looks like the karma is better quality than Mavic 4. DJi has been making drones for a long time and this is GoPros drone so why not support them and give it a shot rather than keep supporting DJi but thats my opinion.

I agree on the sensors especially the follow me mode. Wasn't the original purpose of GoPro to capture yourself. My theory is they need to leave room for new generations such as GoPro karma 2 that will have these features and so on and so on, finally Karma 4 Pro with VR future technology. Maybe this as as good as the Mavic will get whilst GoPro HAS to keep on improving they have a reputation and stockholders and wall street to impress. I agree they were too careful and should have come out of the gate with sensors and follow me mode.

Will GoPro come out with a better battery though? I get maybe 30-45 minutes of use out of my Hero4!! You'll have to constantly change the GoPro battery out. Let's say you're using it with the stabilizer, get to your destination and use it with the drone... You'll need to carry several batteries with you. I'm sure you need to charge the stabilizer too

I have not seen one video or report of a GOPRO Karma cracking! that means it is built more reliable it is a US company, and I am considering the Karma with a Gopro 6 Black, which is an amazing 4K camera. I LOVE how you can remove gimbal and used said 4K camera on the ground! to do so with a DJI you have to carry the whole drone and no way to mount it. I will never buy another cheap plastic disposable DJI drone. I am buying a Karma with a removable Gopro black 6.

I would expect a camera company to have a better... y'know, camera? Nothing beats the Phantom 4 camera for image quality. The Hero 5 comes in a protective case (good down to 33 feet without an extra case) and image quality suffers for it. Also, unlike the Phantom 4 camera, the lens on the Hero 5 is still super wide angle, so comparing the sharpness of the two lenses is difficult. You cannot get the level of sharpness from a wider angle lens without spending much more money.

I've been a GoPro user for years, I'm invested in it, know how to use it for what I want to capture, and have a lot of mounts for whatever I'm doing at the time. I wanted the Karma stabilizer grip, but for another $500 I could get it and the drone, so it was an easy choice for me, I already had a Hero 5 camera. So far, I love both the drone and the stabilizer grip. It's quick and easy to use and captures magnificent video. It extends the versatility of my GoPro, giving me a stabilized action cam while on foot, car or boat, and a drone cam to capture video I'd get from a hot-air balloon. That's what I wanted. I'm not really into flying drones, it's just another attachment for my camera. I've had no problems with it at all (bought in December 2017) so it appears GoPro has worked the bugs out of it. I really love the stabilizer grip too, it makes the Karma package a good value for me.
