@andywheelerr tnx for the reply, but it doesnt still answers the question. why? because if 1080p is optional here, this means your final export of the video is 1080=so then this means you have upscaled your 720p footage up to 1080p-to match the rest of the footage. And why do i ask this? because although id like to have a sharper video like 1080...i do not like its lack of lens distortion. when u shoot at 1080-u lose that fisheye look. and i really like to have it as it is on 720.

if the original video was recorded at 720 60fps- then how is there an option to view this video in 1080p? did u upscale it?

@eladbari if you look at the video closely, the slow mo which is smooth is 720p at 60 fps and then the glitchy giddery clips are 1080p at 30fps. i exported it from imovie and theres 1080p clips mixed up in their so thats why it is veiwable in 1080p... hope this answers your question!
