Yes, you can view everything through the LCD BacPac - I very rarely use the front LCD on my GoPro.

It comes with a waterproof back door housing - so yes it is waterproof when the correct back door is used.

No probably not - some people like an external mic so that they can place it near their car engine or exhaust, to get the car sound along with video etc.

@W0menAreStupid - That really depends on your uses. I find it very useful for lining up my shots etc before i start to record video. There's nothing like recording video on a guess, to find out you missed most of it because the camera was not capturing half of the event!

I personally find the LCD BacPac much more convenient. You can quickly attach, check your shot, and then switch off or remove. With the wifi bacpac you need to enable wifi, use a smartphone to connect to it, then hope its connected and open the app etc. Also I found the LCD BacPac easier to see in bright conditions then a smartphone screen.

Yes it is. Although really you should only use it to line up your shot, then switch it off. This way you wont use up too much battery life and will be able to record your video. Any battery life remaining after recording can then be used to play back your video.

I love this product! The only thing I didn't like about it is that the housing doors get scratched very fast and it is harder to look at your videos and photos through scratched plastic. Besides that, I love it!

@stolenbmx123 - Is it set to switch off after 60 seconds?? Make sure the 'Auto Power Off' setting is set to 'OFF' - this will ensure the LCD stays on throughout and does not switch off. Watch the video from 2:03 onwards....

DUDE!!!! I'm so glad I found this video. I had NO freaking idea something like tihs existed. I love my GoPro but I'm constantly annoyed that I cant see what I'm filming. I dont know if I'm to far away or to close up. Usually I'm to far away. How much did this cost?

I'm trying to determine which would be the better product to line up shots: the wifi bacpac or the lcd bacpac? You don't have to have internet access to connect a smartphone to a lcd bacpac...you're just going to connect the two products so that they can transfer data between each other. I'm thinking the LCD bacpac would be better. The wifi bacpac has lag.

Yes - you will get new case back doors with the actual LCD.

I just got an hd 2 not too long ago and the LCD bacpac but I been having issues my LCD won't turn on at all it turns on the first time but after it turns off it won't display anything I exchanged it two times already and still having the same problem

Thats the thing it won't turn on I went to the settings and turn it off and the screen doesn't turn on I click the power button on the LCD and still nothing that's happened with two of them and my friends LCD he used mine and it didn't turn on on his and his LCD did work on mine and after it didn't on his go pro

if you have a wifi bacpac and connect it with youre smartphone you aren't able to film under water unless you have a water proof smartphone so lcd is much better

Just bought mine, followed the instructions precisely, downloaded the firmware and presto, the LCD doesn't work, nor is there an entry in the settings for LCD. Apparently the firmware download didn't work. I guess this is what happens when you follow the instructions! Another POS?
