Depends on the answer to this question: I do 4-7 hour rides which I have used an external USB power source on a lesser-robustly constructed action cam. Can I do it with the GP10? @@MichaelTripper GoPro offers a USB pass thru side panel that is waterproof when a cable is inserted. It seals off on the type C connector. Also, I have done a few test rides on my motorcycle using a battery pack plugged in for aux power and it worked fine. They even seem to have fixed the usb mic adapter connectivity problems if that matters for you.

To do a proper overheating test. Try 4k60 fps its what most people use, that do continuous recording for Driving Walking fishing etc. From what I can tell there are A LOT of problems with it.

Good review! I have had Go-Pros since the 5 and always get the latest one (except the 8, smh) and they keep getting better and better. So far with the 10, no over-heating, better touch screen and no freezing. Sold the 9 for 250 and invested 150, so $400 with a 1 year Go-Pro subscription......love it!

Great review! I do have a question, if your theory regarding overheating is true and the new plastic door is holding more heat vs the 9’s metal door, could you not just switch them out? If the form factors are the same surely the 9’s door will fit the 10 and then it should help dissipate the heat, just a thought would love people’s view on this!

I bought the GoPro Hero 10 today and i feel very frustrated, 3 times freezze on 5 minutes, and overheated on 10 minutes, i will return it tomorrow, $500 extremely expensive for a lower quality camera! 🤯

You overheat the camera by having hypersmooth turned on and covering up the vent by sitting it on table, thereby covering the release of heat and lack of air intake. Should consider having that disclaimer.

@@davebanach9891 It’s great! Works like a champ. The only thing I don’t like is that it will kill a fully charged battery in a few days if left in the camera but other than that no complaints. You won’t regret getting the 10 Black.

I appreciate the fact that when you test out action cameras you aren't afraid go out and get them dirty. All other reviews I've watched the reviewer at most, runs or walks around with the camera for their "action" shots. Also, you aren't afraid to call out their app for the trash it is. At least it's more stable and responsive than previous generations.

yikes, stutter playback on a mac. glad i edit on a pc with an nvidia gpu. all live previews no matter the frame rate or resolution are buttery smooth. except maybe sometimes raw 8k pro res files

@MONO yeah I hear what youre saying ,all I wanted was 4k 120 fps which this camera supports but it doesn't feel or look polished on half the reviews 😬😂 also the lowlight performance is worse than the gopro 9 ...I get its sensor has smaller pixels and all but that just sucks.Has to be at least equal. Software updates should be able to fix both issues :)

I got the 10 because the 9 was not usable. Freezing all the time when using the media mod. The first day I used the 10….tadaaaaaa freezed two times in 1 hour!!! The 10 is as f***ed up as the 9! It’s just expensive buggy trash! Never ever again Gopro!!!

Colour is very bland. I'm disappointed with Hero 10 for colour it's horrible bland when under full cloudy. Hero 8 is beautiful colour exciting and it look good under full cloudy

Awesome Ben, im still with my 8 black, I gotta admit, this is tempting with the 4k 120, im wondering how well my M1 Macbook air would render it in final cut. Either way overheating was a concern of mine as always with the GP brand, are you hearing a lot of reports of this outside of your own unit you tested in this video? I think I will wait for your 10 vs 9 vs 8 comparison before i pull the trigger, most of my stuff is just vlog style not action so 4k60 seems to be still really good supersampled on Odysee which only handles 720p streaming well right now anyways.

Thanks Ben! I have been waiting for your review :-) I already purchased the camera. Some learning curve but it has been great so far. Too bad that they still have an extreme cold temperature problem! I put the GoPro 10 into the freezer and no luck, show stopper. Starting up was ok and I saw the battery value which was good but the GoPro shut down immediately. In Finland we have the most epic video shots in extreme cold weather like -20C degrees. It's normal weather for us :-) Hey GoPro, you can do it better! We as Finns are not just shooting on the beach some bikini girls. Other than that, no issues.

The Hero black 10 is not connecting to my computer all the way. Shows up as "Camera" doesn't show my videos just show 0gb. I'm tired of having to mess with these hiccups. Last year the 9 wouldn't connect until i switched it to MTP.... but that is not an option with the 10. WHY DONT IT JUST WORK. TF. ALSO someone explain to me why there is no 5.3k 24fps mode????

I really like the image stabilization on the 10, and all the other features, but I usually don't edit on higher res than 1080p, so my question is: would you still recommend I get the 10 and not older models, or even other brands? I do intend to use a hand hand gimbal with it, but not all the time (for example, not when driving a motorbike) so What would you recommend?

No offense but u used the app wrong. Downloading to media sets the photo to be uploaded to GoPro cloud. Then click view media and then the half box with the arrow pointing up and click save to photos

Have hero 10 black was using it this morning and setting some custom pre sets. It will turn on and off but now it won’t record or take pictures. The lcd screen is unresponsive and all the icons have disappeared off the lcd screen.

No GoPro No. The Freezer 9 had 9 freezes per hour. The new 10 shuts down after 10 minutes. From one bad camera to the next. GoPro is no hero anymore... and definitely no pro bro

HERO10 actually creates proxy files at the same time, so for people with less powerful PCs it’s a really good quick option to have. Editing is super quick with those proxy files 👌
