GoPro Hero 4 Silver vs Hero 4 Black - What's the ACTUAL difference?

I found a GoPro hero 4 silver at my local thirth store with all the accessories for only 25 bucks it works great

I would like to point out at 0:42 there is a crack in the silver's front plate right above the lens, this is actually common as they get older. Mine has a crack like that on both sides.

Yep I ordered one last week and it came with the same crack in that location

Today I opened it after so much time not using the camera and it was staying in its transparent default case all the time, yet I was baffled to find the exact same crack above the lens too, unfortunately another one under the wrench key button on the side and was like Wth is happening here, is it broken, can it function etc... I don't believe the one above the lens is much of a problem to fear but the one on the side is a bit disturbing ;/

After dealing with the cheap knockoffs, I finally managed to buy a Hero 4 Black. I thought it was the Silver, but not knowing anything about it, it turned out to be the Black version. The guy bought it new and only used it a couple of times. It looks absolutely brand new. Tested it out and the 4K worked great IMO. That's all I wanted it to do. Got it for $70, and I also ordered a new battery as the original battery is 9 years old (but it charged up and worked). I think I will get the LCD add on device so I can see what I am trying to capture. I got lucky on getting the Black though as I want 4K video at 30FPS. Great video so thanks.

Outstanding review! I still have both, the 4 Silver I take whilst biking and the 4 Black -which is mounted in my Karma Drone- that is flying again after a $75 update in a workshop here in Costa Rica! However, the Hero 7 black which also mounts in the Karma Drone does the job as well!

uhm, the silver and black doesn't come with an lcd. they bought need bacpac. right?

Here's the issue I see with the 5 black over either 4 version. Audio, to get better audio and connect a mic you'll have to spend 50$ with either 4 you can get away with 10 to 25$ and have a decent mic and audio withing a case.

4k timelaps is the reason you dont need alot of frames when your capturing long peroids of time

Only reason im looking for a GoPro action cam rather than the more affordable other brands is because my drone is only compatible with GoPro. The same money buys u better cams for sure.

The hero black 4 is a piece of trash. They are not even worth 80$ or even 30$ the body Integrity is 100% trash, I babied mine and kept it in the case the case fell apart, and the shower of the camera biodegraded cracked all over like a potato chip, this is under extremely light use! The mall batteries overheat, the app is garbage, and all the accessories are overprice pieces of trash that fall apart after a month just by looking at them. go pro has been banned from my work flow!

@@nunusthirst167 Also after using a hero 4, i somehow feel his point, had to glue the front plastic screen, firmware brick that got reflashed to first version then last version for it to work properly...

Lol I had my GoPro 4 since it came out and it was running no problems until I broke it when I took it apart.

@@tigermack i feel like mine had years of living bc when i got it (for 30€ and a software brick, reflashed firmware made everything work again) the front panel was coming out on one angle, the one next to the lens
