This is a much better video than lots I've seen. It gives you good perspective on the speeds and the knife edge control these guys keep the whole way around the oval. Best part was the car diving into the turns at crazy fast pace.

@@DingoOverlord I just feel the guy said something he shouldn't have and payed too high of a price. Was it wrong? Of course..was he remorseful, looked like it to me. No one word should have that much power, especially if it's a word a hell of a lot more people have it in their vocabulary than will admit publically. Only difference is he's a budding Nascar superstar with million dollar sponsorships. The fact that African American culture can throw it around like it's nothing and then act offended when they hear a White person say it just rings of complete hypocrisy in my book. The world of "E" Gaming played a huge part in this because stuff like this is pretty much integrated into the gaming vernacular. Spend 10 min in a Call of duty online server and your poor deceased Grandmother will eventually be violated by some player regardless of age on the voice chat. Right or wrong it's the way it is. Dude got caught up playing the game and made an unfortunate and costly mistake on live stream. I just hope all the Social justice keyboard warriors out there that crucified the guy.. had damn well act the same way when their brotha from anotha motha.. uses the word joking around. The guy is a good dude that should get a second chance.

this is one of The most difficult motorsports there are and while some of you may think it is pretty boring i just don't think you understand that you are going 80+ not on a dirt oval like this one with other cars around you. it takes a great amount of skill and has paved the way for legends like Jeff gordon and tony stewart, and I can tell you that this takes a lot more skill than NASCAR. kind of a shame it only gets the kind of attention it does. a lot more going on than just turning left. more right than left if you payed attention to the video.
@clist94065 жыл бұрын
80+ that would be a very short track . 1/2 & 3/8 tracks get well up to 150+ . Nothing like sliding into a corner at 150 , 9000rpm , with 11 other crazy fools inches away . Absolutely no mercy in the sport , even my own father would slide me up to the wall . Damn good times back then.

Kiora Bro!! Yeah, he came over the ditch to Australia too. What a driver!! He won NEARLY every race, but he certainly won every feature he ran, and ran the feature EVERY night he ran, without exception!! He was bloody good!! But I'm old enough to remember when Rich Vogler, Sleepy Trip and others came over to N.Z and Australia to race Midgets in about, oh about 1980-81. I remember Doug Wolfgang, Steve Kinser and I think it was avery young Jac Haudenschild (hope I spelled it right) came out to race Sprintcars, of course. That was about the same time. There were just SOOO many others. And I remember seeing your own Barry Butterworth come over here and race Sprintcars in theearly eighties too. Boy, tose were the days,now, if you want to win, I mean if you REALLY want to win features, or have a hope of it, you gotta have Big $$$, not just Talent and Big Balls, you "Pay to Win" now sadly.

I have been around sprint cars since the 50's. Not only was that before cages it was before roll bars. In the mid 60's i was at a show at the belleville high banks and a racer from texas summed it up. It's like putting a saddle on an engine and riding it through a mud storm. i cleaned that comment up. The cars are lighter and lots more power today than 50 years ago.

Yep, and in those days, they didn't even have fire suits or proper helmets, most of them drove in a t-shirt and jeans, some of the fancier guys wore coveralls. Thank god Bill Simpson came along changed all that, I still remember his first demo of his fire suits at Indy almost 40 years ago.
@cmoore1858 жыл бұрын
Bill Simpson has done more to save racer's lives than any other person alive or dead. End of conversation. I remember in 1980 when someone sued him and he wouldn't settle out of court. He testified that when it was worn properly you would have x amount of time to get out. The jury went outside and he set a fire and stood in it to prove it. Case dismissed !
