Respect boys, we use the same techniques here in Montreal. I Work for the city too. i can see that you like what you do. Some people don't understand but you basically get paid to workout. if the run is not too long or heavy its the best :) You get the feeling to work as a team and be efficient, not forgetting that your doing an important public service. The only real downside of the job for me is most people see it as low social status job, sad that society sees it that way. take care. True you can't do this all your life because is physically demanding but for the youngters in need of action its pretty dope

damn son, that truck is a beauty!, the company i worked for had the worst trucks out there. no tip mounts on the back, terribly slow hydraulics, lines always blew and at one point in time i had bathed in hydraulic fluid. thankful for my gear. never had a partner, had to do both sides, ran recycling on the trash trucks & ran illegally from 12AM until finish. normally, we were scheduled for pickups to start at 6 am. all in all - the workout is amazing and it keeps you in shape. much love and respect.

@@terrancecromwell284 every step counts, don’t waste energy taking unnecessary steps. An empty hopper is a happy hopper. Run the hopper often and before big stops like a toter. Use the total Tipper as much as you need to in the long run. It can be faster and it saves your back.

You practice what I practice when out on a rear loader. Keep the bucket swept clean!!!! Pass a can to an open tipper!!!! Very smooth and efficient style. What is the reason you retract the tipper completely? I keep mine out to hook and go. It saves valuable seconds that add to anywhere between 15 to 30 minutes of savings. Best performance I have seen. I love it, i do the same job actually same technique too i just wish we had such a beautifully working truck. Eating while moving is essential to keep it fast and never stop, and very fast bin pulls. the trucks we work with in italy suck, they dont allow you to work as fast and efficently for bullshit safety reasons.

​@@joepop3961I'm in central France. Hoppers on our trucks are deeper but also way higher so we can't manually empty as many bins as you do, so the pace is way slower. Everything is in standard bins with barely a few bags on the side.

Respect for everyone who does this. I took a summer job working at the local borough as a park helper while finishing my bachelors. This included doing trash duty whenever one of the two guys were out sick/taking vacation (and they had a lot of pto). Hardest job I’ve ever done. Especially is 80-90 degree weather. The trash was putrid, especially when it rained the days prior. Arguably one of the most important jobs in the country is this. It’s a dirty job, and some ones gotta do it!!

Hey man awesome video. So if something gets thrown in the hopper and packed once it’s thrown in and packed is it pretty much gone for good? I accidentally threw something away once and asked the trash man if I could get it and he said nah buddy it’s gone . He said once it’s in there’s no going back.

Ahh I think in my case he’d already ran the blade and so stuff probably had busted all over . It was a pair of shoes I accidentally had in my hand and when I handed him the trash I accidentally handed him the shoes too . And he said once it’s in there he couldn’t get it out . Probably for safety reasons do you think

@@evanm289 if it's on the rear loader, there's hardly any saving. if he's already started crushing and it's gone through on the rear - it's gone for good. front-loader or automated sideloader may be a different story as the driver needs the use of throttle advance to move the blade.

@@evanm289 probably - i also would not jump in for health and safety reasons. everything is highly toxic. however, on front loader you don't have much of an option. sometimes you need to clear stuff so the blade fully extends and retracts the way it should. there is less garbage/recycling to work in the area you have to clear out so it's not as bad on your health. but usually there is no jumping in once its in.
