Well, every other self respecting redneck has their version of Hank Jr.'s "Country Boy Can Survive" video where they show of their shotgun, rifle, and 4 wheel drive out in the woods somewhere. So yesterday, I was listening to the radio, ole Jr. came on, I had a shotgun, a rifle, and was driving my 4 wheel drive so I thought, "Well, hell, here's my opportunity, get out the camera."
So, this is me driving my 1988 Ford F-150 with a 351 Windsor, pretty much stock except the catalytic convertor is gone, I put Flow Masters on her, and she's got an LSD......don't ask me how a transmission or differential works, all I know is the old girl can plow through some mud and sugar sand. I know I didn't need her in 4 wheel drive on that road, but, I had to show it in 4 wheel so I threw her in so the light would come on and I could record it.
The two firearms in the cases in the front seat are my New England Arms Excel Auto 12 gauge, and Savage (model 11/111 is what It's called I think) in .308 Winchester. I also have my Glock 19 in a IWB holster for on the road and out in public, and my snubby .357 magnum in my bag for while in the woods.
The 4 wheeler in the back is a stock 1999 Honda FourTrax 300 and my buddy that's following me is in a 2003 Ford Excursion with the V-10 gas destroyer.....the thing gets somethin' like 6 miles a gallon, no shit.
Anyway, this was yet another "work weekend". We're working on a permanent camp for hunting, mudding, and just a place to be truly FREE where we can shoot guns, ride all night, get loud, and all that good shit. In the past, me and a few others leased land. Well, we found some great property for us all to throw in on and the best part is........it's OURS! So, we bought it.
We have been working on a water tower, fresh water well, outhouse, and just clearing land and setting up campers and fire pits. We're almost done now so I will soon be able to get some REAL trigger time in and at least get a hog, if not a turkey. Ive seen a few around but was never ready with the shotgun in time.
I will do my best to actually RECORD some videos instead of always leaving the camera in the truck or on the 4-wheeler, I promise.
