Baja 1000 is something else. Everyone should check it out. Ive been a part of 3 peninsula runs with 2 different teams and the experience is like no other. Wish i could go back!

At 12:42 they replace the tires despite the original tires not showing much wear. Do they do this in case of unseen small punctures or just because they can?

Several reasons. Why not? Because they can, and also - Offroad tires such as these, same with dirtbike tires - You dont change them because of the wear, what makes them perform worse is the edges of the blocks. When the edges of the "tread blocks" are dulled out after driving for a while, you start to loose grip, you want them as sharp and fresh as possible. Its not too much about the tread depth

Is there a good reason for not having a windscreen? Maybe if the wipers break you're screwed? I mean wiping your visor every time you go through some mud doesn't seem practical.

Because the windscreen would get dirty every 5 seconds and it would also crumble/break at first big jump.

The issue I have with dust to glory its mainly magnified dramatics. This is more of a drivers perspective and not some outside movie maker. And as for the man taking on the iron man challenge i give him kudos, but I have pre run bikes on the track and taking a spill on the sand isnt that terrible in most cases. If im correct when he took a dump, it was in soft silt. It was the fatigue that made it more dramatic for him to get up.
