I might be looking too into this, but I guess voice actors are very good at fleshing out characters impromptu over the course of a script or improvised narrative, since they can shape entire characters with just voice. They're naturally quick on their feet to integrate little flourishes/traits on their characters' dialogue, and sometimes those flourishes (like being an incel-gamer who can't stop bringing the topic to Fortnite) end up shaping the story/plot. These guys know what their strengths are for comedic delivery, character-roles, etc..., so when put on the spot, they accidentally bend what's initially a random crazy dub into an actually coherent narrative that plays to their strengths. Hell, this dub has a more cohesive storyline than the officially written one for '06. Basically, what I'm rambling incoherently about is that voice actors are fucking dope, and can make better narratives and characters than Sonic team, even if it's unintentional.

Since you asked, Amy is voiced by the same person who voices Knuckles. She voices them until the Shadow dub, where Knuckles is voiced by Chase (Mephiles) and Amy just straight up doesn't speak. She and the VA for Tails/Rouge were replaced for being abusive towards the rest of the cast For this dub, Sonic and Blaze are voiced by Penny, Shadow is Ryan Mitchum, Silver is Robobuddies, Tails and Rouge are Blue Lennox, Knuckles and Amy are Hayley Rose, Elise is Shelby Sessler, Mephiles is Chase Young, And Eggman, Omega, and the Duke of Solleanna is our lord and savior Alfred Coleman
