What a riveting performance!! I didn't know anything about skating and was channel surfing one day in 1990 and by happy accident saw a performance of G&G that took my breath away and I became an instant & forever fan. This Verdi program is my favorite.

frankiegetup I don’t care how young she was when she lost her dad children who lose a parent always have that hole in their heart😓 I can’t image the impression that she must have on her when she sees videos of how much her parents loved each other and her. When they talked about skating the Olympics for their daughter so touching. They lived for her and honestly I believe after he passed that her children were her life line. I sincerely hope her daughter finds the love she had from her father❤️✨

There's just something so beautiful about these two when they performed together. I am a American but I always wanted these amazing Talented skaters to win. It broke my heart for Katia and Daria when he passed. Given the fact that Sergei's father died young of a heart attack I feel that the Doctors in Russia and America failed to do the proper testing on Sergei. Even in the early 90's We knew heart disease was hereditary. For a young man who was fit and a athlete to have completely blocked arteries is mind boggling. As a former RN and a child who had a father who had heart disease and he passed in 94" of a heart attack. My dad was 69 when he passed and stubborn as hell. The night before n for a week before he had symptoms of indigestion. No matter what I said he would not go to the hospital and get checked out. I even tried to call 911 and he grabbed the cordless phone out of my hand and bounced it off of the wall. I was so frustrated I went to bed after a 12hr. Shift. I believe my dad emotionally wanted to go. 3yrs ago I was sleeping when my dog woke me up by dropping my cellphone on my throat. When I awoken I knew I was having a heart attack. I immediately took 6 aspirin, n called 911. My diabetic medical alert service dog saved me. I needed 5 stents ,I too had almost 2 completely blocked arteries. Just two yrs. Prior to my heart attack I had a cardiac stress test, and a ultrasound test of my heart. My arteries were not blocked I was on cholesterol meds . Thankfully my dog woke me when he did. My heart attack didn't cause any damage to my heart. I got lucky.

This is amazing. Yes, they both are georgeous. But you can see that maybe Sergei wasn't all that crazy about the program, yet he did it for Katia becuase he loves her. He was willing to step out of his comfort zone. And guess what? They ended up creating art. This program was slightly flawed, but everything Rodin produced wasn't perfect either, yet we still admire it. Technically, Sergei was, if I'm not mistaken, one of the greatest male pair skaters ever. His technique on the throws is perfect. His turns during the lifts, perfect. His line, my goodness, never gets enough attention. And it should be said, he had better line than KATIA! She sometimes did not point her toe, and at times, turn out might have been an issue. But I can't find ONE video where Sergei's line has been called into question. It is difficult to find other male pair skaters who moved across the ice with his level of finesse. Tragic he's gone. Tragic. But hopefully, guys will look back at his work and learn.

Sergei Grinkov👑🤵🏽‍♂️ 🇷🇺 ⛸⛸Ekaterina Gordeeva 🇷🇺⛸⛸👑👸🏽 in my opinion although I’m an American i’ve always loved and cheered on these two beautiful skaters just lovely so talented they’ve been skating together since she was 11 and he was 15 in Moscow Russia where they grew up they eventually got married in 1991 and had a baby in 1992 and one a gold in 1994 sadly they were training for stars on ice in Lake Placid New York November 95 he was supposed to give her like of a lift part of the program and he just slowly kneeled to the ground and she fell and he just like it was a slow motion and then he just laid down on the ice and he died instantly 28 years old I mean I don’t understand that healthy fit not overweight they said he had coronary artery disease but I don’t understand how you can pass from when you’re so young and so fit you know to be alone with a little girl to raise that’s really scary and hard but she carried her self gracefully for the next 30 years and she has two beautiful daughters she remarried I just like her I just think she’s a pure example of poise and grace and Sergei was her her love you can feel the energy when they skate the true love they had for each other like Ekaterina was saying it’s almost like they were one person that’s what made them so special to watch them skate ⛸⛸⛸⛸⛸🇷🇺🇷🇺👑👑🤵🏽‍♂️👰🏻‍♂️

ekaterina is also very russian. The foreword of the russian edition of her book said that they american writer that helped her create it filtered his own ideas against russia/urrs.
