Man, I absolutely love and appreciate that Gordon actually goes out and experiences what it's like to harvest the meat from these animals. I also love and appreciate that he's making videos out of it and they're getting millions of views. A lot of people in cities and suburban areas have been cut off from experiencing how meat is obtained, which has caused many of them to become oversensitive towards animals, and humanizing them in their minds. Nothing keeps you more humbled and grounded with nature than going out and harvesting your own food.

Predators tend to have larger amounts of mercury through eating animals with trace amounts. Mercury takes years to leave the body so it builds up. If a rodent has a small amount of mercury can you imagine how much a snake would have after eating a hundred rodents?

They probably are affected by it but their nervous systems are more primitive compared to ours so it's hard to tell. They also aren't high enough on the food chain for it to be lethal.

I have an 8-ft long boa constrictor as a pet. The bites don't actually hurt when you get bit-- they bite so fast, you can't even register it. It's a little sore afterwards though, similar to when you scrape your knee, and there normally is a bruise since the strike has a lot of power behind it. But otherwise, it is definitely not as bad as a cat or dog bite for sure!
