Yet another pristine recording of my favorite singer and his band in the early 90's. This recording in particular is one of my favorites because of the extensive set list, with much of it being songs he didn't play every show... Particularly "Farewell to Nova Scotia", "The Auctioneer", and "For Lovin' Me/Did She Mention My Name". He also plays several songs from his East of Midnight and Waiting For You albums, the latter of which hadn't been released yet. His band provides wonderful harmony throughout, especially on songs where Gord sang harmonizing vocals in the studio.

A great song, saw him five times over the years from the mid ‘70’s up until last May. Met him once a great gentlemen! I wish one time I could have heard him sing this! A great song (I know he didn’t write it, still a great song when he sings it) Mr Lightfoot thank you for the lifetime of memories! Hope the Lord is enjoying your concerts now!

Thanks for posting this Mike! I've seen Gord about 40 times dating back to 1976 right after the release of Summertime Dream. Been a fan since If You Could Read My Mind was all over the radio in 1971. I was at THIS concert in 1991. Thanks for the walk down memory lane! And to the Minstrel of the Dawn, Rest in Peace Gordon. I want to add, I saw him last in May of '22 in Columbia MO from the front row. So glad I went that night.

We saw him a few years later at Powell Symphony Hall in St Louis. I'm so happy that we did. He was the best and I will miss him. Peace, Gordon.

Wow! What a surprise to find this in very good quality. This was my first Gord show and it was such a good show & appreciated the more recent songs. The percussion was very effective in this show. I was fortunate to see him 4 times in all (1991, 1994, 1996, 2007) with 53 different songs total.

I think the singers from our generation put feelings in verse and their music. They have so sadly left us. But we have their voices to carry what is left of our generation through to our demise. I know I thank them for a life of beautiful music .RIP. Good job done

'Farewell to Nova Scotia was a wonderful song done by Schooner Fare many years ago. Gordon did do it justice also. A true Folk/Seafaring tune.

Very rare performance of "Only Love Would Know." I have seen him about 70x, back to 1979. I have never heard that song in concert. My favorites here are "In My Fashion" and "Old Dan's Records." Sadly, those songs have left the set lists in recent years. Saw him in Eau Claire, WI in Sept. 2022. What a treat to still hear and see him perform.

Absolutely. The version of "Only love would know" found in this concert is an early one with slightly different lyrics, along with a few of the other songs off of waiting for you having slightly different lyrics. Agreed, it's a shame he doesn't play a lot of his songs anymore - especially Canadian Railroad Trilogy. But I'm thankful for the songs he did play when I've seen him twice, once in 2015 and again in 2018.

You were able to be with him, on his final tour. What a Blessing. I saw him perform last in Duluth, MN 2011. I was able to meet him. The picture of us holding hands, and his autograph are framed. I saw an Ontario license plate today. They will now be a remembrance, of Gordon. ✨🕊✨

Ìve seen him from 75 to 2019. He has modified his songs over the years, however he is such a prolific writer, he has to put in the new, take out domestic old & drill do his standards. Although I wish he would mix up the old ones rotate. He will always be #1 here in America just AZ Canada.

Also, on "Carefree Highway" sounds like Lightfoot isn't playing 12-string rhythm strumming like he usually does, instead opting for fingerpicking on his 6-string acoustic. What an interesting choice - shows how sharp his guitar playing skills were even into his 50s.

Is there a higher quality version of this available on CD or DVD? This has the sound of a home made recording with some distortion or echo chamber effect.

I sure wish there was. I've always heard that there are more than a few live Massey Hall recordings out there that were never formally released. Gord was going to release a 1974 live album that never made it out. I'd be surprised if there weren't more than a dozen unheard live recordings.
