Thank You from a lifetime fan of GL since 1971! I have attended over40 live concerts, including the last in about May 2022. I was of course crushed when he passed, my wife and I sobbed, remembering all the concerts and the crazy things that happened.

Thanks for this! Met Gord in 2005 after a show at Massey Hall. He was so nice, got a picture and a signed ticket which are framed on my wall for eternity!!!!

Good Lord, the band is absolutely on fire during “Gotta Get Away.” Sounds even better than the album version that came out the next year. Thanks for sharing this gem.

Gord played the Paramount/Schnitzer every October in Portland, and we usually celebrated our wedding anniversary with him :) Always a class act, and this recording sounds like a souvenir of one of those night! Thanks for the upload!

Thank you so much for posting this. This is such an interesting era. The early days with synthesizers. This made for some great takes on old songs, especially Song for a Winter’s Night. Hearing the unreleased songs was pretty cool as well.

Gordon said "The House You Live In" was his mother's favorite song of his. As an aside, the phrase "the house you live in, will never fall down, if you pity the stranger who stands at your door/gate" is a reference to Canada's immigration policy.

So amazing to sit and listen to these recordings, just like being in a time machine! Did Gordon ever do Love And Maple Syrup live? I've been searching forever because it's my Daughter's favorite GL song.

I've never heard a live version of that one, sadly.

"Two Crazy Kids" sounds like it would have been the absolute best song on the "Shadows" album, why on earth didnt he release it???

Didn't he own that 12 string since he was a kid?
@Twisted-Steel-sd40-25 ай бұрын
@@bluerazor7049 The natural finish 12 string was from 1964. In 1972, it got stolen. He replaced that one with the 1968 sunburst as seen on the Sundown album.

That's a shame, whoever stole it is quite a jerk! Reminds me when someone stole McCartney's Hoffner bass!
