This was so devastating to hear and Gordon will be missed so much. He had a passion for truth and near-zero tolerance for marketing BS or anything not-consumer-friendly. He impacted so many of our lives and helped shape opinions in the most positive way possible. I always looked forward to chatting with him at launch events and I never really got over going from being a fan / reader of his back in the Maximum PC days to being someone who counted him as a friend. RIP Gordon, you were taken away from us far too soon.

At press events and conventions I'd always be nervous to talk to the industry legends, afraid of sounding dumb or not feeling worthy of their time. Gordon ALWAYS struck up conversation with me when the opportunity arose, asking about a video of mine he'd seen, or cracking a joke about the corporate briefing we just sat through. I quickly realized what everyone already knew: That Gordon was, in fact, the fucking man. I feel awful for what he must have went through in his final days, but I feel worse for the people who never knew him. Rest in peace Gordon, and thanks for all the chats.

We spent a bit of time with Gordon while travelling around and I got to know him on a personal level. Gordon wasn't just amazing at his job he was just a straight up amazing human. Nicely done Adam. This is such sad news. Gordon was the keystone of the Full Nerd. He was always enigmatic and sometimes contradicted himself within a Full Nerd episode, but we loved that about him and we always forgave him. His commitment to the PC platform, and all the players who make it happen (both companies and fans alike) was beyond question. My thoughts and payers are with his family, friends and colleagues at PC World. Gordon is now in a place where he will always have access to the best of the best PC hardware, ATX no longer exists, and no one considers the 1080Ti a viable option under any circumstances. Looking forward to the great content, guests and banter in 2025. RIP Gordon.

F*ck me if this wasn't an unexpected gut punch in my feed. 😭 I hadn't heard he was getting worse. In my estimation, Gordon Mah Ung was the greatest tech reporter of all time - - hard hitting, ethical, factual, and objective. I have followed his career since the earliest days of Maximum PC magazine and have kept every printed issue of that publication, in part for it being such a big part of my own professional journey, but largely for Gordon's entertaining wisdom. I loved his folksy reporting on the No BS podcast and later in articles on PC World and The Full Nerd. Listening to his rants were often like listening to my own thoughts on a topic, except clarified and funny. Gordon clearly cared so much and so deeply about, not just technology, but people, and it was contagious. Gordon inspired others with his wit and opinions. If you have doubts, just read some of the myriad comments on this video. When I heard on The Full Nerd last year that he had been diagnosed with cancer, I related all the more as I have battled that foul disease through many treatments and for many years myself. I regret that I did not reach out and try to return some of the inspiration he has given to me over these many years. Rest well, Gordon. You have left this world a far better place than you found it.

Gordon was an amazing person, I loved reading his articles in the early days and actually got to meet him when I started working for Sapphire. One of the most fun times I had doing an interview was the one I did with Gordon on the Full Nerd. It was great speaking with someone that had some of the same "old days" experiences in the world of PCs. We spoke a few more times about a wide range of topics. I reached out to him when the news broke that he was battling cancer and let him know that I was praying for him and was with him.
