Why are people so doubtful the eel was wild and real? Have you ever been outside? There are these things called WILD ANIMALS and you can find them in the craziest of places almost as if life has evolved for millions of years to fill every ecological niche on the planet.
@sneersh91072 жыл бұрын
Not saying it's fake but I definitely get the suspicion. First of all that's a tiny little creek, it's kinda hard to believe that such a small water area can support such big eels. Second every fish I've ever seen, wild or not, does its best to quickly get away and hide when confronted by a human. The way this eel was just sitting there like it was waiting to be grabbed was very odd.

@@sneersh9107 that's NZ eels. They technically have no predators other than humans so they camouflage as sticks rather than run away when a predator is there. They are smart in their habitat. Most of the eels here in NZ grow massive even in small stream systems as they are so adept to even climbing over land to get to new waterways.

This brings back memories of catching eels in the creek behind our house in Birdwood Road, Swanson, Auckland, NZ about 1966 ish. Put them in a wet potato sack on the incinerator (44 Gallon drum burning manuka) to smoke them. Verrrrrrrry tasty they were. 62 years old now living in OZ and miss the culture. they are in the Matukituki Valley, on the east side of the Southern Alps, inland from Lake Wanaka. The water is straight of the mountains, no-one living in the area. So in general, that would be safe water to drink. You get snow melt or spring water. The water in the Southern Lakes area is known for it's clarity which can be deceiving. It is easy to go in over your head when getting off a boat or walking across a river crossing. You can see the bottom so clearly and you assume it's only 2 or 3 feet deep.... whoops !!!
