Best backer plate souvenir. The bullet stuck in it is so cool.

I shot a 6.5 br out of xp100 with a 15 inch Shilen barrel built by Ralph Bond in 1993 and grouped 3/8 inch for 3 shots at 220 yards. Is that OK?

I came up with a method to cut the velocity spread over my Lab Radar in half on my 6 ppc. I was hoping for a group improvment but at 100 and 200 yds there didn't seem to be a difference. I have been told the 600 yd shooters may find it to work for them. If you want to give it a try contact me in the comments and we can go from there. It is inexpensive and I had many tests where the velocity didn't vary ten fps.

3:43 No way! BC is king over velocity in target shooting!
@crazycowdogs98305 жыл бұрын
The BC on the 105 Berger is only .547 so i'd say they are both important. What makes the 6mm BR special is its small powder capacity which contributes to extremely low standard deviations.
@everythingphil93765 жыл бұрын
@@crazycowdogs9830 "Only .547". From a 308 Win shooter like myself that's LOL! SD is one thing but to get the raw velocity to send it out there is nuts considering it's powder capacity.

Very nice...I wonder what it will do with a 115 REBATED DTAC. Have you try it? BC on the DTAC is .620 at 1000 yards. Thanks.

We love the 110 SMKs in both hubby and mine 6mmBR. Extremely accurate guns and will shoot .25 minute all day long. The barrel is superb and cost of reloading is super cheap with very good MPG on powder and bullet cost isn't bad neither. We mainly shoot .300 win mag, .300RUM and 338L so it's nice when you get 3x the rounds out of powder and the bullet cost is roughly half. Recoil is non existent when your used to getting pounded by the big 30s and 33s. I love my 6BR and my 2 6PPCs.

@@EDCandLace Do you mind sharing some details on your twist, barrel length and powder? I want to try these in my 8 twist 30" 6BR, but I'm not sure if they will be stable or not. Trying for a mile and researching possible 6BR loads to try and get it done. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Certainly. We talked a bit about it in the interview and it's listed in the description but he's using 30 gr of Varget to push the 105's at 2800 fps. Very much a 6 mm equivalent of a 6.5 Creedmoor in that it shoots a 105 at 2800 FPS just as a 6.5 Creedmoor would shoot a 140 at 2800 fps. The 1000 yard world record group was shot with a slight variant of the 6mm BR. It measured 1.068" for a 5 shot group at 1000 yards! www.gunsamerica.com/digest/benchrest-shooter-1000-yard-group/

3 secs is what it takes a 6.5 Creedmoor to a mile here. You’re numbers seem off
