Cord stoppers are sold in the sewing section of craft stores , as they are meant to be used on jackets and hoodies..... I also use them in my ponytail hats, so the top can be breached until the ponytail is satisfactorily situated. Cheers!!!

OMG SHEREE! Your very beautiful sweater is a treasure! What an accomplishment! I’m very impressed. Was the pattern difficult to follow? Sometimes they scramble my brain if they’re not simple to follow . (Especially if someone talks to me while I’m knitting 🤯 This is the very first method I’ve ever seen that encouraged me to try Fair Isle! I have always thought I just couldn’t bear to deal with all the floats! Thank you so much for sharing this!!! 💖👏🏻🧶😍 Also - I adore the boots! Thanks for the mention - now I have to send this to all my fiber friends! 🤣 (you don’t really need to know this, but my last name is pronounced ‘Koose’, rhymes with moose. 🙃 It’s German and means ‘kiss’ Great video! Thanks again.

Hey Missy, Absolutely your name pronunciation matters, and I've made note. Fair Isle....GO FOR IT!. You could start with something that just has a bit of Fair Isle at the top...a gentle way to start. If you do it send pictures rehashfiber@outlook.com. Thanks for watching and being a supporter. ~Shiree

I am knitting the Dana sweater and it’s half stockinette and 1/2 Fair Isle and knitted from the bottom up! I am a glutton for punishment, but I also love Marie Wallin designs…

Thanks for the demo. I knit similarly to you, because I’m English, maybe, but not overhand (like holding a knife). I do it like holding a pencil, and as the fabric grows my thumb holds the needles through the knitting, so my hand is behind the knitting on the right needle, coming up underneath. My hand doesn’t leave the needle, and I just extend my pointer, index finger, to throw the working yarn for each stitch. This enables me to get up to 2 sts per second, maybe more, depending on the gauge. My Nan taught me to knit. I should warn you it’s quite a tight method and I often have to adjust guage

Interesting. I am enthralled with the different way people knit and how fast some folks can knit. I've tried different ways and end up falling back to my comfort zone (not only for my hands, but my brain). It's a wonderful hobby all the way around. ~Shiree

You said you used Knitter’s Pride Dreamz needles. The smallest size I can find on their website is a 4. My swatches show that I also need to go down to a size 1 for the body and a 0 for the ribbing. I have Chiao Goo mini needles, but the cables are so tiny they don’t look like they’d support the weight of a sweater. I also prefer knitting with wooden needles rather than metal. I’m wondering where you found your Dreamz needles in a size 1. It looks like they’re red in the video. Do you have any suggestions on how to find some like yours? Thank you for your help.

If you saw red needles then I must have done it on a US 2. Pardon me for the mix up....I've done so MANY projects since then. As for needles, if I'm not at a yarn store somewhere I go to Amazon. I just checked and they have Knitters Pride in US 1, in different cord lengths. I know the thin needles and cord seem fragile but mine made it through the project. Good luck with the sweater, it's a beautiful marathon and when you're done you'll have a master piece till the end of time. Please send a pict. when your done, rehashfiber@outlook.com, I'd love to see it. ~Shiree

@@rehashfiber Thanks so much for your help and advice! I cast on with my US 2 for the ribbing and will use my US 3 for the body (Chiao Goo Twist). If that doesn’t work, I’ll start over and go down to a US 1 for the ribbing and a US 2 for the body. I’m also going to check on Amazon to see if I can find those red needles of yours in a US 1 and 2. I’ll be happy to share a photo when I finish, but it could be a long time coming. Thanks again!
