Gorgeous Gypsy Vardo Built On The Weekends

"I enjoy your posts and recently decided to build my own gypsy wagon. I found an 20 foot car hauler on craigslist in stages of dismantling for only $200 dollars . I towed it home and began the process of figuring out my layout and materials. I only had weekends to build on it, and within the four months it took, I lost my dad to cancer and almost lost my husband to an aortic aneurysm. Jake encouraged me to continue making it happen and this last weekend I finally finished the project.
I found an antique French door with sidelights and cut the sidelights out to make another set of doors and had stained glass made for them for my entry doors. The rear entry is accessed off a hanging porch that folds up for travel. Directly inside is the restroom with a pocket door for privacy. The sink was made from an old enamelware bowl and the toilet is a bucket system.
Through the pocket door is an electric fireplace to the right with a closet built on top adjacent to a couch that has storage below and folds out into a full bed. Across from this is the kitchen. To save counter space, I placed an induction burner in the top drawer for cooking. Under the bed nook is a set of drawers at the face with a 40 gallon water tank behind, water pump, and water heater. Above the bed is a mini split unit for heating and cooling. In tribute to the original gypsy wagon, I built a nook surround and painted vines and flowers around it.

Great little built- love the elevated red fridge with the pull out drawer underneath. Much better than having to bend down and dig in the small fridge looking for things!

I have one of those electric fire place things. I like because it I don't have to clean ash! Just a thought for ambiance, paint the inside of your fire box black, gives the illusion of burn marks on wall and make the projected fire pop!

Roma we are not Romanian and we are not gypsy, gypsy is a slur term like the word nigger. Vardo is pulled by a horse, these people built a caravan. We Roma are a people we are not a myth a fad a fashion statement or a story, we are a race of people removed from north India due to genocide. We are tired of people adopting out culture like it’s kitch or cool. By all means we know you mean no harm but it just plays into stereotypes and bullshit and discrimination.

Wesley S that was our initial reaction to the idea but after using it we are sold on the idea! No mess or odor. The sawdust absorbs it all and makes it easier than taking out the garbage!

Gypsy Society Co. -> Really’ Well that’s even better when camping way out where there is no hookups ! And amazing that all that is built on a flatbed trailer. I love all the colors & designs especially the Seiter and pecan. Looked pretty cool. Wish the cameraman would have shown the entire space better & more. Wasn't able to get an idea of space in any of the rooms, didn't see what type of flooring, what the rest of the bedroom, kitchen or living space looked like. Is it set up for solar, propane, electric etc? Loved what I did see, if you could redo it would be appreciated

The Gypsy vardo is beautiful and I believe it's very livable I liked it there's no Loft and no waste of space everything is Compact and useful love the bathroom feature that tub is awesome

Wow, Vardo builts some reeeeeally pieces of art! In some 100-150 years these will hit astronomicaL value, I believe, they are so beautiful! I am a born tiny house dweller, I myself live in a very small space but nothing poetic like this one! I wish there was someone in my area (Greece) with at least a 10th of these craftmanship skills, to help built a tiny home myself.... :) Nothing to compare it with this, though....

You don't fertilize your garden with human feces. My mother was a nurse and she had patients who coughed up long red worms that cause them lots of problems with their stomach. She should know she helped the lady pull it out of her throat. Doctors said it was because of the human fertilizer. The lady was in the hospital at that time and her son was complaining of his stomach also. Do it at your own risk.

Humanure is recommended for fruit trees but not a vege garden as far as I know.

You are correct my compost is vegetable and fruits that has gotten old maybe egg shells but I honestly see a problem with human feces used in food garden. But I don't judge to each it's own. Whatever works for the person.

So this is the issue I have with compost toilets that are popular with tiny living. I want a tiny bit I can't use compost toilets I'm sure there is a way to dispose of it other than your garden. Flower gardens is ok😊

It appears to be beautiful with very fine Craftsmanship but You never showed the entire space so no one has any idea what it looks like. We only see tiny sections of small parts of each area. You don't see the floors, windows, Kitchen as a whole or the complete space as a whole. You need to pan out & pan up with the camera or get a Friend who's an experienced photographer to film these for You & maybe give You some coaching on using Your camera for KZbin. Other than that it looks great. Love the frame with the with the etchings & love the love edge features.
